📸 A glimpse of the LSE Summer School Session 2 Reception!

Our SIM-University of London students attending the LSE Summer School were recently welcomed at a reception celebrating their Summer School experience. They were joined by Dr. Francesco Nava, Dr. James Abdey, Dr. Marcia Schafgans, Professor Peter Trubowitz, and were presented certificates.

We’re especially proud to see Thinesh S/O Arumugam, from our UOL BSc (Hons) in Data Science and Business Analytics programme. Thinesh is one of the six recipients of the SIM-LSE Summer School Scholarship.

Nobody really hands you the “how to survive university” manual… so here’s ours 😭📚

The small things end up mattering the most: the people you meet, the habits you build, the classes you attend, and the campus spaces you make use of along the way ✨

Consider this your unofficial SIM starter guide from SIM-University of Birmingham student Harshna who has been through it all👀💚

For Sun Chun Xiang, pursuing a Master of Science in Professional Accountancy with SIM-University of London (SIM-UOL) while working full-time was more than an academic milestone – it was a step towards strengthening her employability and progressing her career in Singapore.

By applying what she learnt directly to her role, Chun Xiang developed greater confidence in her professional abilities and expanded her understanding of how finance professionals can contribute to business decisions. Since graduating, she has continued to build on her qualifications and experience, with her employer supporting her application for an Employment Pass.

A huge congratulations to SIM’s Team To-Gather for their outstanding performance at the recent Singapore MICE Challenge (SMC2026) Finals! 🎉

An annual competition, SMC invites students from local Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to present innovative ideas and future concepts for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. This year’s theme challenged students to think outside the box to address global challenges such as rapid AI disruption, economic volatility and rising environmental expectations.

We celebrate and congratulate SIM’s Team To-Gather, comprising four final-year University of Stirling students, as one of only six teams to reach the finals and showcase their inspiring and unique event concept, Beyond Strangers, on a national platform. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments in the competition and this remarkable milestone, standing out among their competitors as the only PEI team and the only undergraduate team to earn a place in the finals. The team’s creativity, resilience, collaborative professionalism and commitment to excellence exemplify the very best of our SIM young talent.

Congratulations to Team To-Gather on representing SIM with excellence and demonstrating the very best of student talent and industry-ready innovation. 👏🎉

SIM was honoured to be invited to the National Day Reception (represented by Mr Ng Pak Shun and Ms Sara Yik) hosted by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana.

Bringing together community leaders, volunteers, Team Singapore athletes and organisations from across Singapore, the occasion was a meaningful celebration of the people and partnerships that contribute to our nation’s progress.

At SIM, we believe learning is a powerful enabler of opportunity and social mobility. Through our support of the President’s Challenge Springboard Fellowship (through the SIM Impact Fund), we are proud to play a part in empowering individuals bouncing back from setbacks in life to pursue their aspirations and build better futures.

As Singapore marks another year of nationhood, we remain committed to working alongside our community partners to widen access to opportunities and empower people to learn, grow and thrive.

Together, we can continue building a more inclusive and resilient Singapore.
