What would be your response if your children score FULL marks for science? Imagine them declaring that they finally understand science and know how to do well for this deemed to be the most difficult subject! What about them telling you that they never thought science could be so easy and fun! These were the exact words and experiences of the many pupils we have had the pleasure of sharing their science learning journey with.
Hi! I am Mrs. Sim, the only founder of Perceptum Science and creator of the many resources that makes the learning of primary science fun, stimulating, meaningful and relatable. I have taught for more than 40 years and during these years, I have observed and analyzed the difficulties faced by many pupils in the studying of this subject which was only introduced at primary 3. I felt privileged and blessed to be able to create the numerous resources and methodologies to help pupils enjoy and gain confidence in the subject which leads them to do well beyond their imagination at PSLE. These pedagogical elements are carefully infused into the classes conducted Bahru centre. I am indeed honoured by the trust bestowed upon me by parents from all walks of life including medical doctors, scientists, MPs, principals, educators themselves and many many more.
The existence of the resources were a consolidation and crystallization of more than four decades of teaching experiences gathered from working with children in the mainstream classes as well as those in the gifted education programme. Prior to setting up Perceptum Science P L, I was serving at MOE in various capacities as heads of the Arts and Science departments besides being a classroom teacher. In later years I was also tasked to help MOE HQ with the STELLAR programme as an illustrator, a writer and mentors to teachers.
