Starry Night was so much more than an event—it was a vibrant celebration of learning, growth, and community. From immersive performances to beautifully designed spaces, the warmth of the Whitley spirit was on full display. A massive shoutout to the students, staff, and partners who poured their energy and hearts into making the magic happen, both on stage and behind the scenes! 🎭👏
We also took a moment to honor our outstanding award recipients—individuals who lead by example through their excellence, resilience, and character. Congratulations to you all! 🏆
The stage lights may have dimmed, but the memories, lessons, and bonds we’ve built remain. That is the true Whitley spirit: coming together, supporting one another, and growing as one. 💙

17 April 2026 — Starry Night Simulation Show ✨🌌
From simple ideas to a spectacular reality! ✨ Our Starry Night Simulation Show brought the Whitley community together to rehearse, refine, and soak in the magic of the upcoming event.
But it was so much more than a practice run. Students stepped up to manage logistics, coordinate performances, and tackle real-time challenges—putting their 21st-century skills (E21CC) into action! Whether they were running the technical booth or hosting guests, they responded with incredible resilience and teamwork.
It was an evening of growth, shared memories, and a powerful reminder: behind every great show is an incredible crew willing to support one another. Every single contribution matters! 🌟🎭

22 April 2026 - WSS YCOP Visits Bishan NPC
Teamwork, responsibility, and service in action! 🚓 Our YCOP members had an eye-opening visit to the Bishan Neighbourhood Police Centre today. From chatting with officers to learning the ropes of community safety, it was an unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to Bishan NPC for inspiring our students as they step up to become active, caring citizens! 💙

29 April 2026: Our entire Sec 1 cohort heads to the theatre! 🎭
They caught a stunning performance of Roald Dahl's The BFG, as part of its international tour beyond the UK. With imaginative sets and larger-than-life characters, the story came alive in ways they don’t usually see in class.
An afternoon of wide-eyed moments, and a stage full of magic: Whitley brings Literature off the page and right in front of them! ✨

Students who participated in the Author-in-Residence Programme attended World Book Day at Hwa Chong Institution, fostering their interest and love for reading in their Mother Tongue Language.

10 Apr 2026: Our Upper Secondary Literature students attended Checkpoint Theatre’s award-winning _Secondary: The Musical_ , exploring themes of identity and the pressures of growing up in Singapore’s education system.
Prior to the performance, they engaged in a dialogue with director Huzir Sulaiman, gaining insight into the creative process. Literature comes alive beyond the classroom!

26 March 2026: Whitley Secondary School’s KecohRaya Concert was a vibrant celebration of Malay culture and community. Students and teachers came together to showcase traditional performances, including a captivating Balik Kampung, Warna-Warni Aidilfitri and Serumpun dance. The event was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn about and appreciate the rich heritage of the Malay community.🌙 Selamat Hari Raya 🌙

10th Mar 2026: Business Plan Competition at Singapore Polytechnic
Financial detectives in the making! 🕵️♂️💼 To celebrate SP School of Business’ 40th Anniversary, our students competed in The BusinesSPlan. They used speed, teamwork, and problem-solving to crack a real-world business case—digging through cooked books to uncover employee fraud! A huge shoutout to the facilitators for guiding them through this incredible, hands-on taste of real-world entrepreneurship.

27 Feb & 6 March 2026: Our Secondary 3 Geography students explored sustainable urban living at a workshop by City Sprouts in collaboration with URA, learning about Singapore’s urban planning and food security. They also built their own DIY hydroponics kits and brought home a plant to experience the challenges of growing food firsthand.

13 Feb 2026: Our Cross Country Meet was a resounding success, with perfect weather setting the tone for a day of friendly competition and sportsmanship. Students from various houses gathered at Bishan Park, showcasing their endurance and teamwork. In the end, Leo House emerged victorious, taking top honours. The event wasn't just about winning though - participants and staff alike pitched in to clean up afterwards showing true spirit. Kudos to everyone involved for making it a memorable day!
