π Surviving to Thriving: How Parents Can Help Their Child Ace the PSLE! π
The PSLE countdown is officially on!
β³ As parents, itβs completely natural to feel the stress.
But did you know that your role as an emotional anchor and strategic partner matters just as much as tuition classes?
At Science Ventures Learning Hub, we believe that a calm, supported child is a high-performing student.
π Here are 4 practical ways you can support your childβs journey right from home:
π¨ 1. Co-Create the Study Routine (Ownership matters!)
Donβt just hand them a timetable.
Sit down with your child to map out their weekly revision blocks.
Let them choose which subject to tackle first and ensure they build in 15-minute "white space" breaks for every 45 minutes of studying.
When they own the schedule, they stick to it!
π 2. Become the "Mistake Tracker" Assistant
Instead of obsessing over the final marks on a practice paper, help them organize their mistakes. Photocopy or cut out the questions they got wrong, strip out the old answers, and compile a custom "Personal Challenge Booklet."
Re-attempting these exact questions two weeks later ensures true conceptual mastery!
π₯¦ 3. Fuel the Brain & Space
Keep their study desk free from digital distractions (keep phones away!).
Fuel their intense revision sessions with brain-boosting snacks like walnuts, berries, and plenty of water.
Most importantly, protect their sleep β 8 to 9 hours of rest nightly is non-negotiable for active memory recall.
β 4. Enforce the "Zero-PSLE" Talk Zone
Burnout is real. Dedicate at least one evening a week (like Friday dinner or Sunday walks) where school, revision, and grades are completely banned.
Remind them explicitly that your pride in them is tied to their hard work and character, not just the Achievement Level (AL) score on their result slip.
β€οΈRemember, PSLE is a marathon, not a sprint.
Your calm confidence will give them the wings to fly! π¦
