We have an announcement to make!

We are collaborating with Safra Mount Faber to run in-person Korean classes in a bigger classroom than ours.

If you are still standing at the sideline thinking if you should start.. "I read off the captions just fine, I don't need to learn yet!"

Well, many of the captions that you read off from your favourite drama are often lost in translation. Some jokes fall flat, others are heavily sanitized for western audiences. It is rather unfortunate because when translation is lost, the intended meaning is lost as well. Fortunately for you, Korean hangul is irresistibly easy to learn and once you picked it is like cycling it stays with you forever.

Start off with term 1, pick up on the alphabet order and then have the option to start self learning or continue on to term 2 and on your way to Korean mastery.

King Sejong the Great, a prominent figure in 15th Century Korea during the Joseon Dynasty, was also the inventor of Hangul - the modern Korean alphabet.

According to him, his invention was so easy to pick up that it would even be accessible to the “less wise”.

In the early 1400s, before the birth of Hangul - literacy was only made possible in Korea with the Classical Chinese characters “Hanja”. However, the Chinese system was extremely complex and it was almost impossible for common people to utilise it - deeming ‘literacy’, a tool only for the elites.

Hangul is King Sejong’s legacy, and with it, giving his countrymen the tool they needed to access knowledge, regardless of their social standing.

Curious to see how easy it is? Give it a shot!
