Next up! Sports day activities outdoors!

We did the Get Active! National Day dance together, then followed by the sports activities class by class.

To end off the celebration, we created a message together as a school!

It was a fun day! 😄

The Little Talents celebrated National Day today! We learnt who is our President and Prime Minister, and some iconic landmarks of Singapore like Changi Airport, Singapore flyer and Marina Bay Sands.

Then we played some games related to Singapore, like matching the landmarks, completing the Singapore flag and etc..

The Little Talents celebrated Racial Harmony Day today! All of us were dressed in different traditional costumes. As usual, we started off with photo-taking with our nice and pretty costumes.

Next up, we were introduced to say "Hello" and "Thank you" in different languages and food from different races. Then we danced "Together We Shine" with our friends and ended off with games!

We tried the yummy food contributed by our parents for our tea break~

The children were all hungry so we took the tram to a resting area to have our lunch. We had fried rice, nuggets and French fries for lunch! Yummy yummy~

After lunch, we carried on exploring the zoo and we had the most looked forward itinerary of the day.. feeding the giraffe! Some of them were scared, thus they hold the carrots together with their friend to feed the giraffe.

And we ended off our field trip with a "Into the wild" show while eating our tea break - milo and cakes~

What a fun and fruitful day at the zoo!!

The K1s and K2s went for a field trip to the zoo last Friday.

While walking through the zoo to look at different animals, the children did activity sheets where they will tick the animals they have seen, count and compare the number of animals and draw out their favourite animals after the trip.

Due to the light showers, we were not able to spot some animals as they were hiding indoors. But it did not dampen the children's mood as they got to pet the goats.

✨️ June Holiday Activities ✨️

K2 - Fruits 水果

1️⃣ Fruit Spinner Craft
The children began by creating their own Fruit Spinner Craft. They carefully cut out shapes for their own fruit, including a watermelon, orange, kiwi, and dragon fruit. After cutting, they coloured and decorated each fruit using their own creative ideas. The children then assembled the spinner by arranging and pasting the fruit pieces correctly before attaching a craft stick which allow the spinner to rotate smoothly.

This activity provided opportunities for the children to express their creativity while following step-by-step instructions. They experienced the satisfaction of transforming simple craft materials into a colourful, interactive toy that they could proudly use and share with their friends.

2️⃣ Fruits Memory Game
The children then participated in an exciting Fruits Memory Game. Twenty-four fruit picture cards were placed face down on the table. Taking turns, each child flipped over two cards at a time in an attempt to find a matching pair. If the cards did not match, they were turned face down again, allowing the next child to have a turn. When a child successfully matched a pair of fruit cards, they kept the pair and earned another turn. The game continued until all the matching pairs had been found. At the end of the game, the child with the greatest number of matching pairs was declared the winner.

This interactive activity encouraged the children to observe carefully, remember the locations of the cards, and practise patience while waiting for their turn. It also promoted positive social interactions as the children played fairly, celebrated each other’s successes, and learned to accept both winning and losing graciously.

3️⃣ 舞台剧表演《小蚂蚁搬西瓜》
本次六月假期以水果为主题开展活动，带领K2幼儿开展趣味舞台剧表演，幼儿自主进行角色扮演，化身可爱的小蚂蚁，共同搬西瓜。面对大大的西瓜，小蚂蚁们独立尝试、积极动脑，在发现个人力量有限后，主动想办法、互相配合、互帮互助，大家齐心协力、团结合作，最终成功把大西瓜搬回了家。

在沉浸式的舞台剧表演中，充分锻炼幼儿语言表达能力、肢体表现力与想象力。在遇到困难、思考办法、互相配合的过程中，有效提升幼儿问题解决能力、人际交往能力与团队合作意识。让幼儿明白团结力量大的道理，敢于大胆展示自己，乐于和同伴合作完成任务，收获自信与快乐。

4️⃣ 手工制作《西瓜双面扇》
以「水果」为主题开展趣味手工活动，让幼儿在动手操作中认识西瓜的外形、色彩和结构，锻炼手部精细动作与创作能力，体验手工制作的乐趣。

小朋友先用绿色水彩将卡纸均匀涂色，作为西瓜的外皮。再取红色、黄色彩纸，粘贴在卡纸双面，做出甜甜的西瓜果肉。接着将卫生纸轻轻揉搓成小圆球，粘贴在边缘位置当作西瓜瓜皮。最后用黑色颜料点缀画出西瓜籽，一把可爱的双面西瓜扇就完成啦！

在撕贴、揉搓、涂色、点画的过程中，充分锻炼幼儿手部精细动作和手眼协调能力。让孩子认识西瓜的颜色与结构，发挥想象力与创造力，体验动手制作的成就感。

✨️ June Holiday Activities ✨️

K1 - Wind 风

1️⃣ Wind Experiment with Paper Boats
During our Wind Theme exploration, the children investigated how wind can move objects in different ways. They used their breath, paper fans, and a handheld fan to create wind and observe its effects on floating boats in the water tray.

In the first activity, the children blew air using their mouth toward the boats. They observed that the boats moved slowly and changed direction depending on where the wind was directed. The children learned that wind can push objects and make them travel across water.

In the second activity, the children used paper fans to create stronger wind. They noticed that the boats moved faster than when using only their breath. The children compared the speed of the boats and discovered that stronger wind creates greater movement.

In the third activity, the child used a handheld fan to generate continuous wind. The boat travelled further and more steadily across the water. The child observed that a constant source of wind helps objects move more consistently. This encouraged prediction, observation, and problem solving.

The children were highly engaged and curious throughout the investigation. They compared different strengths of wind and observed how wind affects movement.

Learning Outcome:
Children developed an understanding that wind is a force that can move objects, and that different wind strengths produce different effects on movement.

2️⃣ Windmill Craft
Children explored the concept of wind through a fun and creative windmill craft activity. First, they used colorful markers to draw lines and patterns on square pieces of paper. They then carefully folded and assembled the paper to create their own pinwheels. Finally, the completed windmills were attached to sticks, allowing the children to observe how the blades spin when exposed to moving air.

The children enjoyed creating their own windmills and discovered that wind can produce movement. The wind makes the windmill spin.

3️⃣ 科学活动《风的力量》
小朋友们在这个假期活动中以风为主题，展开了与风有关的活动探索。了解风的力量，风带给我们的好处。风是一个看不见、摸不到的东西，要让小朋友认识风，我们就从感知开始。

首先老师介绍教具，悄悄告诉大家：风要来喽！然后老师用吹风让小朋友感受风从哪里来？风的力量有大小。

接着老师通过实验让小朋友们观察海洋球、乒乓球在风的作用下如何漂浮起来。最后让小朋友看将气球向上抛，没有风会直接掉下来的原理。

4️⃣ 手工《风筝》
小朋友们学习制作风筝的手工活动，首先老师请小朋友们在风筝上画出自己喜欢的表情，然后粘贴上竹枝做出风筝的骨架。最后粘贴上尾巴，风筝就做好了。
小朋友们在活动中通过画、彩色、粘贴等技巧促进手部小肌肉的发展。也在活动中学习到风筝要靠风的力量才能飞到空中的原理。
