Today, our SAM teachers had the opportunity to learn from Dr Yeap Ban Har, a renowned mathematics educator known internationally for his work in Singapore Mathematics, problem-solving and teacher development.

At SAM Serangoon, we believe that when teachers continue to learn, reflect and improve, our students benefit too.

Every new idea we pick up, every strategy we refine and every perspective we gain is something we bring back into our classrooms — helping us explain concepts more clearly, guide our students more effectively and nurture confident, independent thinkers.

Walk into one of our classes and you may notice something different.

One child is working with manipulatives.
Another is drawing a model.
Another is completing a worksheet.
And a teacher is beside a student, explaining a concept individually.

This is intentional. ❤️

At S.A.M Serangoon, we recognise that children don't all learn in the same way or at the same pace.

Instead of expecting every student to move together, we meet each child where they are and guide them forward one concept at a time.

Sometimes that means slowing down and explaining again. Sometimes it means using something they can see and touch. And sometimes, when they're ready, it means moving ahead.

The pace may be different.

The quality of learning should never be.

That has been part of our approach throughout our 12 years at S.A.M Serangoon, and we're thankful to every family who has trusted us with their child's learning journey. ❤️

The transition from Primary to Secondary Mathematics is one of the biggest leaps in a student's learning journey. New concepts, a faster pace, and greater emphasis on mathematical reasoning can be overwhelming without the right foundation.

At SAM Serangoon, we're excited to launch our Secondary 1 Mathematics Programme starting this October!
