goes beyond the classroom in RP's SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) for Wellness Professionals.

Recently, learners explored the wellness industry through visits to Mandarin Oriental and Kenko Wellness. They gained insights into career opportunities, industry practices, and the skills needed to thrive in Singapore's growing wellness sector.

As part of their capstone project, they pitched wellness business concepts to a panel of industry experts. Ideas ranged from wellness apps and TCM-inspired concepts to concierge services and wellness spaces. Each team received valuable feedback to refine their ideas.

Learners then visited the Entrepreneurial Partnership & Innovation Community (EPIC), where they saw how mentorship, industry networks, and resources turn ideas into reality.

Whether you're switching careers, deepening your expertise, or exploring entrepreneurship, RP's SCTPs offer practical learning, industry exposure, and a supportive community to help you take your next step. In a world of constant change, a growth mindset makes all the difference.

From March to July, the Republic Polytechnic School of Business - RP SBZ partnered with the Land Transport Authority – We Keep Your World Moving (LTA) to deliver “Growth Mindset Unlocked: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities” to about 200 LTA officers across eight course runs. Designed for administrators and junior managers, the 2.5-day customised programme explored how cultivating a growth mindset helps individuals embrace challenges, overcome limiting beliefs, and build resilience in today's evolving workplace.

“I joined this course because I wanted to improve myself and motivate myself to be a more positive person,” shares Aldrin N. Marquez. “This course has been useful for me as it allows me to think deeper into what I want to improve on and how to achieve it by having a growth mindset,” Judy Lim adds.

At RP, we partner with organisations to build resilient, adaptable, and future-ready workforces — creating through practical and industry-relevant learning.

How can technology shape the next generation of sustainable agriculture? RP partnered with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and Singapore Cooperation Programme - SCP to find out.

The inaugural Young Farmers Development Programme (YFDP) brought together 13 young farmers and two representatives from Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture for hands-on training in IoT, drones, and controlled environment agriculture. Beyond the classroom, participants visited local urban farms and networked with Singapore's agritech solution providers — gaining practical insights into the technologies transforming modern farming.

This collaboration between Singapore and Indonesia demonstrates how applied innovation and knowledge-sharing accelerate agrifood transformation. By equipping the next generation with future-ready skills, we are building the foundations for more sustainable and food-secure communities across the region.

It was a pleasure to be part of the Homecoming celebration at the newly renovated Community yesterday, joining residents and community partners in celebrating a refreshed space for the neighbourhood.

As Woodlands' nearest institute of higher learning, Republic Polytechnic was proud to showcase some of our capabilities through interactive demonstrations, including our AI-powered robotic dog, while introducing residents to our part-time diplomas and short courses that support upskilling and lifelong learning.

A special thank you to Ms Mariam Jaafar, Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC (Woodlands), for stopping by our booth, and to everyone who came by to learn more about what we do.

We enjoyed connecting with the community and look forward to empowering more learners on their lifelong learning journey. Explore courses open for application: https://www.rp.edu.sg/lifelong-learning/october-intake/

“It's never too late. I started this diploma at 34 while working full-time,” says Hon Nur Farhanah, who is currently studying for a Part-Time Diploma in Applied Science (Environmental Services and Management). “In fact, your work experience becomes an advantage, because it helps you understand the course content better.”

For Farhanah, upskilling wasn't about changing careers. She continued working full-time at the National Environment Agency (NEA), and saw it as a chance to deepen her expertise and prepare for new opportunities in the environmental sector.

She has been able to apply what she learnt directly to her role at NEA. The Integrated Pest Management module refreshed knowledge she gained as a former dengue officer, while Environmental Statistical Methods strengthened her data management skills. These have helped her improve daily data updates and use Python more effectively for data processing.

One of her most rewarding experiences was working on an environmental project. She applied classroom concepts to real-world challenges and saw, first-hand, how theory becomes practice.

Farhanah has this advice for those considering part-time studies: “If you're passionate about learning and self-improvement, don't let age stop you from taking that first step.”

Looking ahead, Farhanah hopes to explore opportunities across different NEA departments and contribute even more to environmental and public health initiatives.
