Often, the most meaningful advice comes from those who have walked the path before you. Our researchers returned to their alma mater to share their scholarship journeys, research experiences, and what it means to pursue science with A*STAR.

Calling future quantum researchers 🔬

The A*STAR Graduate Scholarship (AGS) fully funds your PhD at a top Singapore university with 4 years of tuition and other allowances on top. You’ll do your research on real projects at an A*STAR Research Institute in quantum computing, communications, and sensing—where you’d help advance the discoveries that strengthen Singapore’s place in quantum tech.

What the role offers:
📍 Fully-funded PhD scholarship, up to 4 years
🔓 Bond-free for Singapore Citizens and PRs
✈️ Up to 12 months on overseas attachment
💰 Full tuition, monthly allowance, plus book, computer, conference and thesis allowances

How much can screen time alter infants’ brain development?

Studies link slower decision-making and higher levels of anxiety in teens to high screen exposure.

These are real results from tracking children over a decade using brain imaging. The study is led by the A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP) and the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Experiences beyond screens are important. Play, music, reading and real-world interaction support healthy early brain development.
