🌅Beginning of a new era - No Frills Tuesdays🎆

9th September 2025 marked the kickoff of extra Tuesday chapter meeting at Bishan Toastmasters
Coming from the point of providing value to club members and variety of experiences to build towards becoming Stronger Together. 💪

Club president endowed us with encouragement to build consistency in our commitment to becoming better speakers and leaders. Being consistent in speaking and taking chapter meeting appointment roles does much more to your character development than hoping for a sudden change.

We were treated to an amazing line up of prepared speeches.
Starting with Yen Shing sharing about her expensivelesson she learnt from renting.
Betsy Tan walked us through her journey of listening to her inner coach and guided
us how to find our own inner coach. Visiting Toastmaster Almalie Salva captivated us with her story from herding cats to building a home.
Kudos to all our prepared speakers for giving us wonderful insights to take away.

As our inhouse Table Topics Powerhouse Liam Morrison took the helm as Table Topics Master, everybody knew that table topics is going to be a reverting part of the show. Adding his unique angle of seeing the world, Liam made
everyone excited and challenged to speak off the cuff.

Best Evaluator: Nicholas Tay 👏

After a hiatus of 1.5 years to take care of his new born, we were excited to welcome back Nicholas.

Spotlight goes to our members:

Violet for taking her first appointment role as the chapter meeting SAA and doing a wonderful job to open the chapter meeting 👏

Zi Xian for taking up his first appointment roles as Ah Counter and doing a fantastic job at it. 👏

Special mention goes to our visiting toastmasters; Vincent Chua, Almalie Salva and Affee Abregana for contributing to the success of this chapter meeting. 👏

Club President highlighted that the exco would be adding variety of activities to the No Frills extra Tuesday chapter meetings, as long as there are no speaker booking, if there are, our priority is always to give speakers opportunity. As such, the extra chapter meeting would become a regular chapter meeting.

Keeping up with the new tradition of Bishan Toastmasters, the community went down to the coffee shop nearby for a cup of hot/cold drink and a nice chat. 😄

🌟 New Beginnings, Stronger Together! 🌟

On 22 July 2025 , our club kicked off the new term with an inspiring induction session — welcoming our new Executive Committee and Club President Mendis unveiling this term’s theme: “Stronger Together”.

Our vision for the months ahead is clear:�✅ Build stability and strong consistency�✅ Deliver quality learning experiences�✅ Empower every member’s growth in communication and leadership

We were treated to an amazing line-up of prepared speeches:�🎤 3 enthusiastic speakers embarked on their Level 1 speeches, taking their first confident steps on their Toastmasters journey.
�🎤 1 compelling speaker shared his journey of discovering his career aspirations — keeping us engaged with a surprise Q&A segment and answering every question with poise, confidence, and authenticity.

In addition, the table topics segment is where everyone is empowered to step up and beat that nervous jitters! Speakers pick a random topic by drawing from a basket lot held by a lil girl, daughter of our VP of Education: Alan Teoh!

It was a warm reminder that every meeting isn’t just about speeches — it’s about growing together, challenging ourselves, and supporting one another in becoming the best communicators and leaders we can be.
