When your child gets 6/100 after a full year of tutoring… how are you supposed to react? 🤦
In 2022, a father in China studied with his son every single day, giving up sleep and likely his peace of mind, all for the final math exam.
The result? 6 out of 100. 😭
That’s when he broke down, saying, “I don’t care anymore. All my effort was for nothing,” as his wife laughed in the background as if it were an ordinary day.
But the boy’s previous scores weren’t always this low…
They had improved from 40 to 90.
So what happened?
Was he distracted? Rebelling?
Or simply worn out after being pushed until midnight for an entire year?
In China, education, especially math, can feel like a battleground.
One poor score can seem like a disaster.
Yet a jump between 6 and 90 doesn’t signal inability. It suggests something deeper.
Sometimes the biggest lesson isn’t about grades, it’s about knowing when to stop pushing.

If data is your decision driver, do read this article whether to pursue a degree or not.
What we tell our students: While a degree is not a guarantee of success in life, the pursuit of one ensures a degree of training and proficiency in certain skills. Pun fully intended. The application of such skills in the real world can land one a job or even create jobs for many others.
INSPIRE® Education Centre offers a 10 months fast track A level programme for those who wish to pursue a degree or wish to pursue a medical degree like some of our INSPIRE® Alumni.
