Just two weeks ago, Pune witnessed a transformative event as WORLD Swim successfully conducted its second coach education program. This follows on the heels of our inaugural program in Bengaluru a month prior, marking a significant continuation in our mission to revolutionize swim coaching across India. Our approach is holistic, emphasizing not only technical swim skills but also coaching pedagogy, safety, and effective communication – the cornerstones of a proficient swim coach.

In Pune, coaches delved into the strong fundamentals of coaching practice. This exposure is crucial, as it impacts the quality of training provided to swimmers, thereby raising the coaching standards throughout India.

WORLD Swim is at the forefront, leading the curriculum development in the Learn-to-Swim community. Our innovative methodologies are setting new benchmarks and introducing fresh paradigms within the swimming ecosystem. This movement is now reshaping the future of coaching in cities like Pune and throughout India.

Building on the momentum from both our Bengaluru and Pune programs, we are excited to continue this journey of educational excellence. Over the weekend, Bengaluru witnessed a transformative event in aquatic education with the launch of 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺'𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟭 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 (𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻-𝘁𝗼-𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺) 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. This pioneering initiative marks a significant stride in enhancing the quality of swim coaching in India.

The program's curriculum was an innovative blend of theory and practical sessions, focusing on vital areas of coaching expertise:

In a country where coaching pedagogy is still emerging, this course offered profound insights and tools for the coaches to uplift their standards and impact the swimming community.

To become a certified WORLD Swim coach, candidates must now complete a competency skills assessment in their coaching environment, understand basic sports science, and adhere to a strict code of conduct, ensuring a high caliber of coaching professionalism.

This certification aligns with and supports existing swimming programs in Bengaluru's schools and communities, fostering a robust ecosystem for aquatic education.

Looking ahead, aspiring coaches can anticipate our next Coach Development program in Pune, scheduled for January 2024. This opportunity is now a movement that shapes the future of swim coaching in India.

In the past two weeks, an inspiring chapter has unfolded in Pune and Bangalore for WORLD Swim. Our team of dedicated coaches participated in an in-depth orientation focused on our unique 9-stage program. Here, we view swimming not just as a sport, but as a life-skill and a lifesaver.

This orientation equipped our coaches with refined tools and methodologies, enhancing our pledge to prevent drownings by making quality swim education universally accessible. We aim to meet global standards and provide an individualized learning journey for each swimmer.
