Calling all educators! Think you are a master at using Canva? Well, you could be rewarded! SEAMEO SEN is holding a competition and you are welcome to join so put on your thinking caps and get to it!

Do note that the SEAMEO SEN-Canva Creativity in Education Award 2026 is open to all government and private teachers from kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools with students aged 5 to 18 years old. On additional note, only teachers from the 11 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam are eligible for this award. Participating teachers are invited to send in a classroom story that reflects how they create inspiring, creative, and future-ready learning experiences in line with the theme provided. Submission starts from 30th June to 4th September 2026.

It's time for FIFA World Cup Fever!

Did you know that linguistics actually plays a key role in 'The Beautiful Game'.

On the pitch, football turns into a high-stakes masterclass in rapid-fire communication. With players from dozens of countries sharing the same locker room, they quickly develop a "pitch-pidgin"—a stripped-down, practical blend of technical football terms, shared loanwords, and simple gestures (scratching their noses and rubbing their ears among others) that transcends their native tongues. This isn’t just about learning "pass" or "shoot"; it’s about creating a hyper-efficient, unspoken shorthand that allows teammates to synchronize their movements within split seconds to score the next GOAALLL!!
