Our National Day celebrations continued with “Fun with SG Celebrations”, a lively performance and sing-along to familiar National Day favourites.

🇸🇬Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond! (Part 1)

Our school came together in high spirits to celebrate Singapore’s National Day through a day filled with patriotism, creativity, and fun!

The celebration began with our National Day Observance Ceremony, where students and staff gathered to honour our nation, reflect on our shared values, and express our gratitude for the peace, harmony, and opportunities we enjoy as Singaporeans.

This year’s 61st National Day celebrations carry special significance as Singapore also marks 60 years since the National Pledge was first recited in schools on 24 August 1966. This milestone reminds us of the enduring values and aspirations that continue to unite us as one people, regardless of race, language or religion.

As we commemorate our nation’s journey, may we continue to cherish our diversity, contribute positively to our community, and play our part in building a brighter future together.

Our Riverians and their families came together during the CCE Holiday Family Bonding Project to create meaningful artefacts from recyclable materials, inspired by our Value of the Month – Kindness.

Guided by our school’s PlayWorks Protocol, students put their Inventive Thinking skills into action as they imagined, designed and crafted unique creations using everyday recyclable materials. Through creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and meaningful parent-child bonding, they discovered that small acts of kindness can make a positive impact—not only on the people around us, but also on our environment.

We are proud to showcase the creativity, thoughtfulness and effort behind these wonderful creations. Thank you to all our families for making this project a meaningful celebration of kindness in action!

Our Primary 1 students had a mooncake-tastic time creating their very own clay mooncakes as part of their learning experience with the STELLAR Big Book, Mid-Autumn Festival! 🌕🥮

Besides getting creative with clay, our young Riverians also discovered the history and traditions behind the Mid-Autumn Festival. The activity brought their classroom learning to life, allowing them to make meaningful connections through hands-on exploration.

Although the mooncakes weren’t edible, our pupils were definitely over the moon about the experience! ✨

🧲✨ Attracted to Science! ✨🧲
Our Primary 3 students embarked on an exciting learning journey to Science Centre Singapore as part of their learning about Magnets.

Through engaging hands-on activities, our young scientists examined magnets of different shapes and sizes, investigated materials with magnetic properties, explored magnetic fields and discovered how magnets are used for different purposes in our everyday lives.

The experience brought their classroom learning to life and gave students opportunities to observe, question, investigate and draw conclusions. It also nurtured their curiosity, critical thinking and appreciation of how Science helps us understand the world around us.

What a meaningful and memorable way to learn beyond the classroom! 🔍🌏

MathSparkles Quiz 2 (28–30 July)

MathSparkles Quiz 2 returned from 28 to 30 July with an exciting new challenge! This time, students had to answer two questions correctly to win a token, raising the bar from the previous round.

The increased level of difficulty did not dampen their enthusiasm. Instead, students eagerly embraced the challenge, discussed strategies with their peers, and persevered until they found the correct answers. Their determination and resilience were truly commendable. Most importantly, they had fun learning Mathematics.

A highlight of the event was seeing students step out of their comfort zones by requesting to attempt questions from other levels. Their confidence and curiosity reflected a genuine love for learning and problem-solving.

Taking on new roles may not always be easy, but every challenge is an opportunity to grow. 🌱✨

In this week’s P3 FTGP lesson, our students reflected on their own character strengths and discovered how qualities like perseverance, courage, and responsibility can help them overcome challenges. Through meaningful discussions and peer encouragement, they learnt that everyone has strengths to build on and that each new experience helps them become a better version of themselves.

Together, we continue to nurture confident, resilient learners who are ready to embrace every new opportunity. 💛

🥪👩‍🍳 Little Chefs, Bold Flavours – A Feast in Every Bite! 👨‍🍳🥪
On 25 July 2026, our Chef Club students participated in the 18th KHWEC Sandwich Making Competition at Keat Hong Community Club. From preparing the ingredients and cutting them carefully to assembling and plating their final creations, our young chefs took ownership of the entire process and completed every stage independently.

The competition also gave them a valuable opportunity to demonstrate resilience and adaptability. When some of their bread became burnt, they remained composed, worked together and found a way to overcome the setback. Under time pressure, they continued to communicate, make decisions and support one another until their dishes were completed.

We are incredibly proud of the confidence, independence and perseverance they displayed. More than a culinary experience, the competition allowed our students to practise creativity, collaboration and problem-solving—and showed them that unexpected challenges can be overcome with a calm mind and a strong team! 🌟

A big thank you to the Keat Hong Community Club Women’s Executive Committee for providing this meaningful platform for our young chefs to learn, create and grow.
