What better way to conclude the Find Your Voice (in English) campaign than with a TED Talk-inspired debate session?

Our students took on thought-provoking debates and confidently shared their perspectives in English. Designed to strengthen communication skills and encourage self-expression, students were challenged to think critically, articulate their ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions, all while building confidence in speaking English within a supportive learning environment. 💙

We are incredibly proud of all our students for stepping forward, owning their voices, and embracing every opportunity to grow. 👏 Every debate, every idea, and every conversation was a reflection of how far you've come.

The future of communications starts with conversations that matter. Some conversations can be more difficult than others. 💬✨

Make A Difference Campaign or MADCamp (as it is more affectionately known) made its long-awaited return as an in-person showcase after several years, bringing together our students from Murdoch University who curated and presented strategic communication campaigns centred on the theme, "Care to Shape Tomorrow?", tackling two important issues facing Singapore: dementia and low fertility.

From in-depth research and creative storytelling to confident presentations and thoughtfully presented discussions, our students demonstrated how communication can inspire meaningful conversations and drive real-world impact. From emotional pulls to high energy delivery, justified with facts and stats, guests left the conference with tangible insights on how communication can shape outcomes.

A special thank you to Associate Professor Renae Desai (Dean, School of Media and Communication, Murdoch University, Perth) and Dr Mary-Anne Romano (Academic Chair, Digital Communication, School of Media and Communication, Murdoch University, Perth) for joining us in Singapore to support this year's showcase. We also extend our appreciation to the feedback panellists: Ms Anjna Vij (Discipline Lead & Lecturer, Communications, Murdoch University, Singapore) for expertly developing and preparing our students; Mr Clarence Lim, (Director, Southeast Asia, The Hoffman Agency); and Ms Marion Ang (Co-Founder & Chief People Officer and ESG & Government Lead, TriOn & Co), for sharing their expertise and valuable insights with our students.

Our Department of English & Academic Learning's Find Your Voice (in English) campaign continued with Karaoke Live, where students and the wider Kaplan community came together for music, laughter, and confidence-building! ✨

Did you know that one effective way to learn a language is through music? 🎶 The session encouraged students to take the mic, practise spoken English, and connect with one another through music, games, and friendly competition.
