All companies are now really IT companies or they will die. If you doubt this, just ask your local taxi driver, postman or retailer. People from IT are the next generation of leaders because they will have to know IT – just as before they had to speak accounting. I have a huge benefit bridging both worlds of IT and business. And the problem with IT leaders taking senior positions? Is that they are

mostly introverts with poor communication skills (in human form in real life and about anything other than IT). When the baby boomers got to be CIO/CTO/Head of DP it was excusable that they couldn’t code and couldn’t lead the IT team. But now, business needs the Gen X’ers and Millennials to step up in the succession pipeline and who better to lead us into the future than the IT geeks and nerds who are creating this modern business?
