On 25 May 2026, we joined the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA โ€™s ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜บ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฆ ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ Exhibition at Lot One Shoppersโ€™ Mall, where we spotlighted seafaring career pathways through our Tripartite Maritime Training Award (TMTA) programme.

Graced by Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, Jeffrey Siow, the exhibition launch marked a moment to reflect on how far Singaporeโ€™s maritime industry has come and the people behind its growth.

This progress has been shaped by strong tripartite collaboration, bringing together unions, employers and the government to support and uplift the maritime workforce.

We would also like to wish MPA a happy 30th anniversary, marking three decades of advancing Singaporeโ€™s maritime sector!

Last Friday, 22 May 2026, we brought together our members, shipping partners and cadets our annual SMOU Manila Nite and the Wavelink CadetsPlus Graduation at Conrad Manila.

We also celebrated 114 Filipino cadets graduating from the CadetsPlus Programme, a milestone that reflects their resilience and commitment to a seafaring career. Moments like these remind us that wherever we are, we remain part of one SMOU family.

Conversations filled the spaces between every plate.

On 14 May 2026, in partnership with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA (MPA) and Lighthouse Bistro, we organised a three-course maritime heritage dinner, ๐˜๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ ๐˜—๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜—๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ, in celebration of this yearโ€™s Singapore HeritageFest, bringing guests together for an evening of stories shared by our seafarers. Life at sea unfolded through personal reflections, quiet moments, and stories that rarely make it ashore.

Not every journey is seen, but every seafarer carries a story that deserves to be heard.

Thank you to our seafarers, Cheryl Lee and Jing Hong, Lighthouse Bistro, MPA and our guests for being part of the evening!

On 18 May 2026, SMOU x SSA YEG panel held in conjunction with the International Day for Women in Maritime, reminded us that communication is not just about speaking, it is about being understood.

From Capt. Ashish Malik, Capt. Hari Subramaniam, Capt. Hisyam Haron, Lisa Holum, Usha V, Yukie Teo and Yin Jinghong, one message stood out.

When people feel heard, they speak up. And when they speak up, safer decisions follow.

On 13 May 2026, in collaboration with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA, our Youth Division brought together our young mariners for a learning journey at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) @ Punggol and a networking session at the Singapore Maritime Gallery.

The afternoon featured a campus tour and lab visits that explored areas such as future ship systems, naval architecture, and marine engineering, offering participants a closer look at maritime education and innovation in practice.

The day concluded at the Singapore Maritime Gallery, where conversations continued over dinner and participants connected through informal exchanges.

Stay tuned for more event highlights and moments from the day!
