Congratulations to Xu Fanqi (403) and Luo Xinya (209) on their Silver and Gold Awards respectively at the China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO), held in Changsha this August!

Organised by the Chinese Mathematical Society, CGMO brings together talented young female mathematicians from China and beyond to challenge themselves through high level mathematics while connecting with peers from different places.

From this event, Fanqi shares about the friendships and experiences that made the trip memorable:

“Beyond the competition, I got to know my teammates better, explore Changsha as a city and learn about its history, as well as make friends with other participants. I’m grateful that I got to experience both the intensity of the competition and the friendships that came with it.”

💡 Taking learning into the world of AI innovation!

Last month, six of our students took part in the Weixin Mini Program Global Innovation Challenge 2026, a global AI competition hosted by Tencent that encourages students to turn ideas into solutions for their communities. They joined peers from Singapore and China for a mini hackathon and workshops, picking up new AI tools, pitching ideas and collaborating on solutions.

Building on their learning through RGSynapse, our girls put their creativity and problem solving skills into action, exploring how AI could be used to address real world needs.

We are proud to hear from the Tencent team that our students stood out for their ability to think critically, develop ideas with purpose, and apply what they had learnt through RGSynapse to a new challenge🌟

A heartfelt congratulations to our alumna, Venkatesan Vidya Laxmi (Class of 2023), on receiving the SPH Media/MDDI Tamil Media Scholarship!

With her passion for the Tamil language continuing beyond her time at RGS, she is set to join Tamil Murasu after completing her degree, where she hopes to contribute to the Tamil media industry through quality journalism and community focused storytelling.

Perhaps most heartwarming was her message to her former Tamil teacher, Mr Uthaman, who sent his well wishes after seeing the news:

“மிக்க நன்றி ஆசிரியர்!! உங்களுடைய பாடங்களால் தமிழ் மீது எனக்கு இருந்த காதல் வளர்ந்தது, அதனால் கிடைத்த உபகாரச் சம்பளம் இது☺️”
“Thank you very much, Teacher! Your lessons deepened my love for Tamil, and this scholarship is a result of that.”

We are so glad to see her love for Tamil continue to grow beyond her time at RGS. 💚🖤🤍

🇸🇬 Happy 61st National Day from RGS!

As Singapore celebrates SG61, we reflect on how far we have come as a nation and the shared responsibility we have in shaping what comes next.

This year's theme, "Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!", reminds us to keep moving forward and show care for one another and our wider community.

At RGS, we are proud to be part of this journey, contributing in our own ways to a stronger and more caring Singapore.

Majulah Singapura! ❤️🤍

✈️ RGS Strikes Gold at the National Air Race! 🥇

Earlier this year, the RGS Physics Team organised a two-day Aviation Workshop for 36 students, introducing them to aviation through hands-on learning in flight planning, navigation, and teamwork.

Following the workshop, one team was selected to represent RGS at the National Air Race: Girls Team Category, an annual competition that challenges participants to plan flight routes, make strategic decisions under pressure, and apply their aviation knowledge.

We are proud to share that our team achieved the Gold Award at this year’s competition!

Powered by dedication, resilience, and teamwork, our students have shown what authentic Physics learning can achieve. Here’s to inspiring more girls to take flight in aviation and Physics!
