We fondly remember the very first Education Lab event : Education Policy , Motivation and Challenges , where a former student Kwek Jian Qiang (MIA 2021 ) from LKYSPP shared with us his experiences. This online event was the first step in our path to initiate the conversations around Education Policy as a Student Group.

Education Lab was honored to host Cexiang Foo, Senior Deputy Director of Planning at the Singapore Ministry of Education this week. He shared fascinating insights on future directions of the education system - a focus on holistic education, continuing education, and upskilling. Teacher training and the difficulties of education policy implementation were some of the topics discussed. Adding a wealth of experience to the conversation was our wonderful moderator Dr. Gopinathan Saravanan, assistant professor and an education expert at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

Education Lab had a memorable visit to ITE College West on Friday! It was fascinating to see how extensively Singapore invests in technical education. Thank you to ITE for your hospitality and thanks to everyone who participated!

Why Indian Nonprofits Are Experts at Scaling Up (SSIR) 05/11/2017

Hello everyone! Ramji Raghavan is visiting LKYSPP on the 23rd of November!

He is the founder and Chairman of Agastya International Foundation, the world’s largest hands-on mobile science education program for economically disadvantaged children and rural teachers. Ramji Raghavan left a successful career in banking in London in 1998, to create Agastya International Foundation, a transformative and innovative education charity in India. As Chairman of Agastya, Ramji leads a grassroots initiative to support and transform primary and secondary education in India. Operating with a fleet of 175 mobile labs, 60 science centres, 60 lab-on-motorbikes, 400 night village schools and a 172-acre campus Creativity Lab near Bangalore, Agastya has reached creative hands-on science education to 10 million poor and disadvantaged children and 250,000 teachers.

He is planning to visit LKY School on the 23rd of November. If you are interested in learning about best ways to educate underprivileged children, this will be an opportunity to learn from the man himself. Do let me or Saipriya know about it, so we can work on organizing a conversation with him.
