今年、没後90年を迎えているイタリアの作曲家、O. レスピーギについてご紹介します🎹
彼の代表作『ローマの松』の終盤では、ナイチンゲールの鳴き声が聴こえてきます🐣
実は彼は、当時としては非常に斬新だった「録音された鳥の声を使用する」という指示を、自ら楽譜に書き残しています✨
このことから、100年前にはすでに“SE音声”がオーケストラに導入されていたとも言えるのかもしれません😂
また彼は古い音楽への憧れを持ち、大変研究熱心な作曲家でもありました。
作品の中には、教会旋法の響きなども度々登場します🎵
そんな彼の師匠の1人が、ロシアの大作曲家 Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov です❗️
イタリア人でありながら、実は“ロシア仕込み”のオーケストラ職人であったという点も、彼の大きな魅力の1つではないでしょうか？
さらに、彼の作品は、元お弟子さんでもあった奥様 Elsa Respighi の尽力によって後世へと伝えられました✨
そしてレスピーギ夫妻は、大の猫好きとしても有名だったそうです🐈
20世紀イタリアを代表する作曲家、Ottorino Respighi の音楽を、ぜひ聴いてみてください🎵
Today, we would like to introduce the Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, whose 90th anniversary of passing is being commemorated this year🎹
In the final section of his famous work Pines of Rome, you can hear the song of a nightingale🐣
What makes this especially fascinating is that Respighi himself wrote in the score that a recorded bird sound should be used — an extremely innovative idea for that time✨
In a way, this could mean that “sound effects” had already found their place in the orchestra over 100 years ago😂
Respighi was also deeply fascinated by early music and was an incredibly devoted scholar.
You can often hear influences of church modes and ancient musical colors throughout his works🎵
One of his teachers was the great Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov❗️
Although Respighi was Italian, part of his brilliance as an orchestrator was actually shaped by the Russian tradition.
His music was later preserved and promoted thanks to the efforts of his wife and former student, Elsa Respighi✨
There is also a heartwarming story that both Respighi and his wife were well known for being great cat lovers🐈
