People good at maths are often considered left-brain dominant - they are good at following processes and logic and are not creative as that is controlled by the right side of the brain.

However, that is too simplistic. Maths and creativity are very much connected.

Creativity is linked to words like innovation and genius. We talk about maths geniuses all the time. And creativity involves the ability to join seemingly unconnected ideas to create new forms of expression. This is very much what we do in maths.

Let's look at ways maths is creative:

Maths consists of all sorts of patterns and symmetries we can find everywhere we look

Maths has deep roots in art: Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man represents ideal human body proportions, calculated using maths ratios.

Islamic art techniques are tightly linked to maths too, featuring tessellations, and patterns of repeated shapes that fit together precisely so that no gaps or overlapping occurs.

the Golden ratio: a mathematical principle that expresses the ratio of two sums whereby their ratio is equal to the larger of the two quantities. This is often seen in art.

Maths and music: numbers and maths are often used to describe and teach music. Music has a number of beats per bar and notes are represented by fractions of the beats.

The Fibonacci sequence is seen in music too, in piano scales.

Trouble converting temperatures ?

You don't have to sweat converting Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Just subtract 30 from the given Fahrenheit temperature and then divide your answer by 2 (*Quick estimate).
To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, simply multiply the Celsius temperature by 1.8 and then add 32 to the product!
