| Ryan V: I've joined Winstedt since August 2022, I have good memories of my times at Year 10 and 11, and I've enjoyed Career Electives alot such as Character Design at MAGES and Fashion Design at Raffles College.
As I leave The Winstedt School, I will miss it because I have had great memories and fun times with OG students (Amanda, Keegan, Aurelio, Asheesh, Avery, Adam, Come, etc). We went on entertaining outdoor activities where we explored places in MRT stations and other buildings. The Port Dickson Camp during my time at Year 10 was very fun and my favourite camp.

After being introduced to recycling as part of their IPC theme “What’s It Made Of?” and a workshop on paper making, our students took action!
Collecting scrap from around the school, they shredded, soaked, and blended the paper into a soft pulp before pressing it into new sheets. They even added dried flowers to create unique designs!
In an era where upcycling is a critical skill, experiences like these strengthen our students' fine motor skills as well as prepare them to think differently about resources and their ability to make a difference.

"Just make a mark and see where it takes you…" 🖤
In Year 7/8E Humanities, Ms Anasha asked students to let go of the belief that they're "not creative." Instead of aiming for perfection, they were asked to simply start.
Inspired by a dot, each student made a single black dot ⚫️ That one dot became a bicycle. A galaxy. A sunflower. Using everyday objects like corks and clothespins, ordinary marks grew into extraordinary art.
Students began to see that their ideas mattered: their unique mark could grow into something meaningful. We believe every student can make a difference. Sometimes, it just takes one dot to prove it!

Music is great for the growing brain! 🎶 For our youngest learners, music supports auditory skills, motor development, and emotional connection. Whether listening, moving, singing, or exploring instruments, music helps children regulate, co-regulate, and feel connected to others.
Studies show that music improves memory, focus, and even reading readiness. Dr Nina Kraus from Northwestern University found that music sharpens the brain's ability to process sounds, strengthening language skills and phonological awareness.
We are so excited for Winstedt's Got Talent tomorrow, where our students will show us just how powerful music and performance can be! 🎤

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Abbott, who came in to share his professional expertise as a Chief Financial Officer with our curious Upper Prep and Secondary students.
He spoke about the importance of Mathematics in practice, specifically how percentages and accountancy play a vital role in everyday decision making. It was an inspiring session that gave our students the chance to gain insights and ask thoughtful questions 📌
At Winstedt, parent involvement takes many forms: from our dedicated Parent League to volunteers who generously give their time at events and in classrooms. We are incredibly privileged to have such a supportive community that enriches our students' learning 💙💚
