Last Friday, our members had the opportunity to visit RSM Singapore’s office in collaboration with CPA Australia and SIT Accountancy Student Management Committee.

The session began with insightful sharings from Richard Ong, Hwee Theng Chua and Perry Teh, followed by an engaging fireside chat where panelists discussed the evolving accounting landscape, career development, and how young professionals can stay adaptable in a dynamic business environment. 🌟

It was an afternoon of meaningful conversations, learning, and networking — giving our participants a closer look into the life and culture at one of Singapore’s leading accounting firms. 💡

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of co-organising Tax Tales: What They Don’t Teach You in Class with Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP). The event brought together students from all five local universities for a candid conversation on what a life in tax is really like beyond the classroom.

From weighing the paths between Big 4, IRAS, or in-house roles, to navigating your first client interaction, no textbook could have prepared us for the practical insights and honest advice shared.

SMU Tax Society presents…Tax Mentorship Programme 2025! 🌟

Gain valuable insights into the world of Tax and Accounting through direct guidance from experienced professionals. Over a three-month period from August to October, mentees will be grouped with mentors from leading organisations: PwC, SCTP, Tax Academy, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG.

Each group will consist of one mentor and three mentees, with a mix of organised meet-ups and informal catch-ups to foster meaningful connections. 🤝🏻
