Tea & Tots

Sharing is not always easy for babies, which is why playgroups such as our Tea & Tots program are such a great forum for them to learn what sharing is, how to do it, how to wait their turn or alternaively how to play together. This essential social skill comes more naturally when tots get to interact with other tots.

Ooohhh, infinity lights 🤯

At 𝕋𝕖𝕒 & 𝕋𝕠𝕥𝕤, we like to offer our littlies a rich spectrum of stimulation, which activates all of their senses. Our infinity lights are one of our Tots' favorite things to wonder about. They look like they are never-ending and allow the Tot to be in control of the accompanying sounds, colors and speed in light shifts. While this can be seen as just a fun activity, it actually teaches children that some things in life are under their control and that others are not. This is a valuable lesson to learn at an early age because it will help your child continue to be curious yet flexible when faced with uncertainty.

What's in the mystery box?

Our tots love when our mystery box makes an appearance and they get to discover what lies within. Our mystery box is not just all fun - it's a 'Reggio Inspired' provocation that is open ended and designed to stimulate ideas, curiosity, imagination and socialization.

What fun our Tots and their parents/caregivers have when they get to play together in our 𝕋𝕖𝕒 & 𝕋𝕠𝕥𝕤 groups. This week, our Tots learned about themselves in their environments and learned about space and sharing space through singing and dancing.

💙Togetherness 💙

Togetherness (outside mom and dad) is incredibly important for babies and tots because it helps them develop a sense of security and trust in other caregivers and friends. Tots need to feel safe and secure in order to thrive, develop confidence and their personalities. Being among other tots also teaches them how to interact with others, as well as develop language and communication skills and social skills.

We know that the teacher is a crucial part in early childhood development and education. But did you know that the 𝒑𝒉𝒚𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 is considered to be the third teacher? The first two, according to the popular 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒐 𝑬𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒂 (RE) philosophy, are the school teacher and the child itself. At 𝐓𝐞𝐨 & 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐬 we believe that the third teacher greatly influences children’s creativity and their learning process.

This is why we play in both indoor and outdoor environments. Our intentional teaching strategies in these environments provide provocation and open-ended resources resulting in endless imagination and opportunities for our littlies to think creatively, solve problems, and discover who they are and what they love. 👶💚
