β¨ As we bid 2023 farewell, we reflect on a year that's been a vibrant tapestry of learning, achievement, and teamwork. This year, we embraced the LCCL core values of Excellence, Empowerment, and Fun in every endeavour.
π
Our students' success in coding competitions at the school, national and international levels is a shining example of excellence. These victories are more than medals; they are the result of dedication, innovative thinking, and a relentless pursuit of growth.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Parents, your unwavering support and belief in your children and our students have empowered them to reach new heights. Thank you for working with our teachers to turn challenges into learning experiences, shaping confident and resilient young coders.
π©βπ« To our inspiring teachers, your commitment to excellence and your ability to make learning fun have been pivotal in creating an environment where students not only excel but also discover the joy in coding.
π’ For our wonderful students, each problem that you solve is a step toward building an empowered self and a new future. Kudos for putting the thinking hats on, and keeping them on when it gets hard.
π As we step into 2024, we look forward to another year of outstanding achievements, empowering education, and, most importantly, fun-filled learning experiences.
β€οΈ Hereβs to a New Year filled with moments that celebrate our core values. Together, we're not just coding; we're nurturing problem solvers and computational thinkers in creating a brighter, more innovative future!

Happy Lunar New Year!
The Year of the Rabbit reminds us of a classic problem in computer science. Solve it if you can!
A famous mathematician posed this problem back in 1202, reworded here:
Imagine that at the start of January 2023, you have ONE pair of baby rabbits. All rabbits take a month to grow to be mature adults. Adult rabbits will birth a pair of female-male newborns each month.
At the start of February, your kittens have grown to become adult rabbits.
At the start of March, you find yourself with TWO pairs of rabbits, because the adults have birthed a pair of kittens.
At the start of April, you suddenly have THREE pairs i.e the original adults, the kittens in March which have grown, and a new pair of kittens born by the original adults.
At the start of May, you have a total of FIVE! The original pair, the first pair by the original, and each of these adult pairs have birthed one new pair each. Plus, the pair born in April who are now adults.
Assuming that all rabbits are alive, how many rabbit pairs will you have by the start of January 2024?
Can you guess the name of the mathematician?
If you know how to code, write a program that tells you how many pairs there are, given any number of months. Share your solution here, or DM us!

π π₯³ Congratulations to all seven LCCL learners who end up top 20 in the Coding Olympics!! We are proud of your amazing achievements in this nationwide competition.
Like their peersβ wins last year, this placement again validates the strength of our curriculum.
Kudos to these young coders, most of whom completed our in-depth and rigorous Coding Fundamentals programme.
Their keen spirit to learn not just coding, but also to solve hard problems with Computational Thinking has paid off now in a competition. Most importantly, it is a mindset and skill they will carry for Life.
Congratulations again Nathan, Curtis, Eitan, Aletheus, Daniel, and Jacob and Colin!!
