The 2026 PSLE kicks off in August with the oral examinations, followed by Listening Comprehension in September. Written papers begin on 24 September with English and wrap up on 30 September with Higher Mother Tongue. You can check the full schedule on the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board website.

Students can check their Sec 1 Posting results using these methods:
• S1 Portal with parents’ Singpass
• SMS (if a local number was provided during the application process)
• At their primary school

There’s no need to report to the new secondary school immediately.

Instead, students can visit their posted school’s website for reporting details, booklists, and info on buying books and uniforms.

Parents on Parents Gateway (PG) will also receive these updates.

Release of 2024 PSLE Results and Secondary 1 Posting Exercise The results of the 2024 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) will be released on Wednesday, 20 November 2024 at 11.00am. Arrangements have been made for school candidates to receive their results from their respective primary schools.

This is a revision guide I usually recommend to my students. At only $7.90, it is a small book that covers all the topics. Do take note it is not meant to replace the textbooks but to be used as a quick revision guide leading up to the exams. If your child is in P5 this year, you can consider this.

My daughter is Primary 2 this year and to encourage her to be interested in Science, I asked her to read Young Scientists and World of Science. From then on, she has always been reading the books whenever she can find them in the library. Last day before PSLE Science exam:

1) there is no need to do anymore science practice papers. Look through the questions that you didn’t do well in instead or if you have a revision guide, just look through that.

2) manage time well tomorrow. 35-40 min for booklet A, 5 min per question for Booklet B, 12 questions in total. That should give you 5 - 10 min to check at the end.

3) For booklet A, it will be good to highlight, annotate and eliminate. Every option you eliminate brings you closer to the answer. Make sure to read the question properly. Every question is worth 2 marks.

4) even if you are not familiar with CER, pay special attention to open-ended questions that are worth 2 marks. That would usually mean 2 key concepts (not keywords!) are needed. Ask ‘why’ and then ‘so what’.

5) lastly, have a early night tonight and make sure you have breakfast. Your brain needs the glucose to function well!

East-West Line service disruption to last through 25 Sept, caused by power fault The disruption of MRT train service on the East-West Line today was caused by a power fault and will last for the rest of the day.

As we reach the third day of PSLE study break, do make sure your child stops doing anymore practice papers and let them just focus on revision. Don’t forget to give them words of affirmation!

12 more days to the first PSLE written paper. Do set realistic targets with your child if you have not (based on prelim results).

With PSLE coming in a few months’ time, the best way to revise would be to do past PSLE papers, not assessment books. We are now in Term 3 and in a few weeks, the Prelims will begin and of course PSLE. Here are the important dates for PSLE 2024 taken from MOE Singapore (https://www.moe.gov.sg/national-exams-dates).
For first time parents, P1 to P5 students will be on HBL during the Oral and Listening Comprehension dates so rest assured your child will not be distracted. Unfortunately though, the written papers will still be school as usual. If your child is not taking the Higher Mother Tongue paper on 2 Oct, he/she does not have to come to school.
