P&J Montessori Kindergarten

Emma is slowly settling into the school routine. Emma had her first interaction with her peer, Edmund, as they shared the chalkboard for drawing. Both demonstrated an understanding of boundaries, giving each other space while engaging in their individual creativity side by side.

A Trip to the Supermarket
It was a short trip but the children did lots of Maths and Language exercises to prepare for it. It helps them to see the purpose for learning numeracy and literacy skills. Each pair of children were given $2.50 to spend. They have to decide on something healthy and within their financial means

We would like to welcome all parents and children back to school with another year of joyful learning. We look forward to 2023 being a year of wonder and discoveries, a year to renew old friendships and to make new friends.

Sensorial Education
Knowledge of Childhood is the foundation of the Montessori method. One discovered fact about children is their sensitivity to their 5 senses. Besides giving our children sensorial experiences, the material and the directress work together to educate and fine tune the children's senses to appreciate nuances in shapes, colours, temperature, weight, smell, sounds and sizes

Our idea of a school is not an institution but a home where children can be their own masters. This year when new children have to the cope with anxieties in the new environment, it is not only the teachers but the children too who offered a warm welcome, loving assistance, offering tissue paper to dry the tears and sometimes just being there with a look of empathy.

"It has been observed that children develop under the sign of wonder''. Nurturing wonder is to encourage children to stop and look ever more deeply at simple everyday things. If we skim over things, we are never surprised by them. By looking and asking questions the child begins to glimpse the secrets and marvel at the mysteries of life. Here the children are watching with great fascination, a flower suspended and swaying in the breeze. How? Why?
