π’ CPF Contribution Rate Changes for Senior Workers (From 1 Jan 2026)
To strengthen retirement adequacy, CPF contribution rates for senior workers aged above 55 to 65 will increase from 1 January 2026.
πΊ Whatβs changing:
β’ Age >55 to 60: Total CPF increases from 32.5% to 34%
β Employer: +0.5% (to 16%)
β Employee: +1% (to 18%)
β’ Age >60 to 65: Total CPF increases from 23.5% to 25%
β Employer: +0.5% (to 12.5%)
β Employee: +1% (to 12.5%)
π‘ Key points to note:
β’ The increase applies to employees earning monthly wages above $750
β’ Additional CPF contributions will be allocated to the Retirement Account (RA) up to the Full Retirement Sum (FRS)
β’ If FRS is met, contributions will go to the Ordinary Account (OA)
β’ CPF rates for employees earning $500β$750 will continue to be phased in
β’ No change to graduated CPF rates for 1st and 2nd year SPRs

"π¨ Work Permit (Performing Artiste) Scheme to Cease π¨

Effective 1 June 2026, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will stop accepting new applications under the Work Permit (Performing Artiste) scheme due to widespread abuse.
π Key points to note:
β’ Existing Work Permit (Performing Artiste) holders may be retained until their passes expire or are cancelled
β’ The scheme, introduced in 2008, will be fully ceased as it no longer serves its original purpose
β’ Decision made after consultation with the Singapore Nightlife Business Association (SNBA) to allow businesses time to adjust
π Alternative options for businesses:
β’ Engage performers via entertainment service providers
β’ Hire eligible foreign artistes under regular work passes
β’ Use the Work Pass Exempt (WPE) framework for eligible short-term performances (subject to venue and event conditions)
π€ MOM and MTI will continue working with SNBA to monitor developments in the nightlife sector.

"π¨ Important PDPA Update for Organisations π¨
Private organisations must cease using NRIC numbers (full or partial) for authentication by 31 Dec 2026.
From 1 Jan 2027, the PDPC will step up enforcement, including possible directions or financial penalties for non-compliance.
π NRIC numbers must not be used as passwords or login credentials (e.g. combined with names or birthdates).
π’ Government agencies have already phased this out, with IMDA, MAS, and MOH issuing sector-specific guidance.

β’ Phase out NRIC-based authentication
β’ Implement stronger, secure alternatives

What is CEI (Basic)?
The Certificate of Employment Intermediaries (CEI β Basic) course equips Employment Agency (EA) personnel with essential knowledge of Singaporeβs key employment laws and regulations.
This ensures EA staff understand their legal responsibilities and can confidently advise clients on their rights and obligations, supporting compliance and professional service standards.
π― Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for EA personnel and staff (e.g. administrative or general staff) who perform EA-related work.
π Not for Key Appointment Holders (KAHs) β KAHs are required to take the CEI (KAH) course instead.

Requirement
EA personnel working in agencies holding a Comprehensive Licence (All, Non-MDW, or Local) are required to attain this certificate.
