Salaam. Alhamdulillah for the pleasure of being able to meet old friends with whom we have spent many years of our life going through life challenges together. We share many valuable experiences in the many year as civil servants that shape our understanding of our social polity and the problems that the community faced.

We also discuss the strength and weaknesses of the present structures we have of managing social issues in our country and learnt to be grateful with the good things that we have and discussed what could be done as our hope and aspirations knowing full well that many things are in the hands of others. We can only make do'a and if opportunity arises offer our advice for them to do the right things for the betterment of our Muslim community here in Singapore.

Last Sunday, for the first time this year, was able to visit Arab Street area in search of chocolates, delicious expensive cakes and a scrumptious meal. Felt like a tourist in the midst of tourists from all over the world. Spent the Sunday morning checking on the madrasah textbooks to be used for next year. Alhamdulillah, they are almost ready except for minor books such as Seerah&Do'a books, Arabic course book and Kinder books. Insya Allah, will be able to get them ready before the end of the year.

May Allah swt guide us in beneficial activities and amal salih at all times. Aamiin.

Salaam. Alhamdulillah, our enrolment and continuation for madrasah classes for 2023 are still continuing. We are accepting students though with very limited places for the following:

a. Sunday morning Kinder classes for 5-6 year old students (Pasir Ris branch only) ;
b. Saturday morning Level 1 classes for 7-8 year old students (Tampines branch only);
c. Saturday evening Youth level (16-20 year olds who have not or very little madrasah education).

Salaam. Throw back to a busy day. First was to be with my dear fellow mosque leaders managing Masjid Haji Yusoff as they celebrated their 100th Anniversary. Congratulations to Hj Kamarudin and Hj Jawad (see picture) on this ocassion and seeing in person how the mosque has been transformed physically as well as in its activities.

Had to cut short the scrumptious lunch there to come back to Omar Salmah Mosque as a group of Muslims from Pasir Ris West MAEC was coming to visit us. We briefed them on the history and current activities of the mosque including activities to celebrate our 50th Anniversary next year. We had a good discussion and enjoyed some food together while we relaxingly discuss how we can help one other. They were then brought out onto an exciting tour around the mosque.

Meanwhile, we will be placing a donation box Omar Salmah Mosque entrance to accept contribution for the benefit of the West Java earthquake victims. We will send this to the Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin committee in MUIS as with other mosques all over Singapore. The committee will send all donations to the earthquake victims. You may wish to join my tazkirah after Zohor today.

Salaam. Alhamdulillah, enjoying my free breakfast (courtesy of NSS55 voucher) with takeaway here right opposite my home while I prepare my before Zohor tazkirah presentation today @ Masjid Pusara Aman. Need to rush back home for an ARS online course on 'I'tilaf fil Ikhtilaf' on my tablet starting at 2 pm.

Today is the first day, alhamdulillah, we can choose to not wear our mask in places like this restaurant and shopping centre. Of course, we can choose to be cautious. I still see many people wearing mask here. As many as those who chose not to.

Today, also, I begin my preparation for my total right knee replacement operation on Wednesday, 31 Aug. Less apprehensive as I have done the left side two years ago following the advice of my aunt, Aunty Aishah, from KL. Certain medicine must not be taken. Need to continue the preparatory exercises as recommended by my assigned physiotherapy from Changi General Hospital.

I always here weird stories when I told everyone that I am doing my surgery at this hospital. They told me that CGH means cannot go home. That's wicked! I have gone through several minor and so far one major operations without a hitch and found the medical services rendered here as first class for a public hospital with their team of dedicated professionals.

Alhamdulillah, done my preparation and ready to bring home just my tapau breakfast for my better half. Everyone at home is relaxed. May Allah swt give me the cure to this more than 30 years problem of painful knee joint. Aamiin.

Salaam. The primary level students in our Tampines branch are in and we are having one of our continual assessments today for all subjects - Qur'an Recitation, Tajweed, Arabic, Seerah and Aqidah/Akhlaq. Next week will be Fiqhul Ibadah, Tafsir and Qur'an Memorisation theory and practical. Continual Assessment is the method we have chosen over examinations as it is less stressful on the student and more meaningful for the teachers to gauge if they have done enough to convey the lessons in our curriculum.
