Our Sec 3s have been busy during XCUBE 1, diving into Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs) that brought real-world skills to life! 🎉
Here’s a peek at what they got up to:
💰 Banking & Finance - Our budding entrepreneurs brainstormed and pitched their very own business ideas as a group. Future CEOs in the making!
🩺 Healthcare - Students got hands-on with a first-aid course, picking up life-saving skills that go way beyond the classroom.
✈️ STEM - Drones in the air, planes taking flight - our STEM learners got to pilot their way through some seriously cool experiments!
🍽️ Hospitality - Exploring the art of service and what it takes to create memorable experiences.
🎨 Arts & Media - Unleashing creativity through media, storytelling, and artistic expression.
To bridge the gap between theory and reality, students also embarked on eye-opening Learning Journeys to see these industries in action!

Honouring the path forged by our past leaders and seeking the horizon with our incoming ones ✨
Last week, we celebrated the Student Leaders’ Investiture 2026 - a meaningful occasion to express our appreciation for our outgoing leaders for their dedication, service, and unwavering commitment to the Xinmin family. At the same time, we officially welcomed a new generation of leaders who will continue to inspire, serve, and lead with purpose.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Honour the Path, Seek the Horizon”, our student leaders were reminded to cherish the legacy built before them while continuously striving towards greater excellence.
Congratulations to our newly appointed leaders from the Student Council, Peer Support Board, and CCA Leaders Board, as well as the incoming XCEL team who will lead as one united voice. May you continue to lead with courage, compassion, and conviction!

ALUMNI HIGHLIGHT: Values that Anchor, Lessons that Last 🏐
Our Xinmin experiences don’t just build memories - they shape our students’ character for future success. For Gilbert Toh (Class of 2009), his journey from the volleyball court to global leadership roles is a stellar example of this! ✨
Gilbert went on to achieve a Master of Philosophy in Management from the University of Cambridge, ranking 1st in his cohort! He was awarded the Singapore Armed Forces Academic Scholarship (Overseas) and served as a military officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy. Today, he is a leader in the tech space, serving as a Regional Business Director.
Reflecting on his roots, Gilbert shares:
“My time at Xinmin shaped my values of grit, resilience and community. Joining the volleyball team was a turning point in my life—teaching me perseverance, discipline, and the importance of teamwork. These lessons stayed with me even after graduation.”
When asked about his favourite memory, Gilbert looks back fondly on the bonds built through the sport - especially the countless hours of training, competing, and the laughter shared with teammates and classmates.
Truly, the relationships made in Xinmin last a lifetime! Today, he pays it forward by continuing to serve our school community as the Head of the Xinmin Alumni Youth Chapter. 💛💙❤️
