Hunting for Hues!
We sent our 4 new Junior Designers out and about to rediscover Chinatown, a well-known neighbourhood globally (also where our office is located), through their “coloured” lens. We are curious to find out how each of them would interpret their version of this iconic heritage district.

💚In our recent trip to Bali, we took the opportunity to visit one of our projects that is now in the construction stage. While we were involved only up to the Sketch Design stage, we are blessed to see it coming to life!
This residential and retreat project draws on the homeowners' distinct tastes to define a unique language. We created a bespoke ensemble tailored to their influences. For her, it was about a nurturing place for healing and wellness. For him, it was about composing his geometric preference and industrial techniques. Shared between them is their love for hosting🥰
✨Contrasting ideas sparked the beginning of something magical … A contemporary vernacular tropical Indonesian built ensemble immersed in the surrounding nature 🌿 echoing the topography and layered by a measured sense of post-industrial composition.

💪 Full steam ahead for our Merdeka Textile Museum project in Kuala Lumpur.
The most recent meeting saw the team at various locations inspecting and coordinating with our partners, collaborators and craftsmen to ensure the smooth delivery of various components for the museum. Spaces are taking shape, and it is becoming clear how the different artefacts, showcases and media formats are going to sit within the experience 🤩
😉 Keeping a close eye on everything – from carpentry details to lighting design, our exhibition design vision is gradually being realised in real time!
Stay tuned!

The team at kienviet.net (a Vietnamese platform that updates on innovative solutions and inspiring projects) recently featured us as part of their “International Career Stories” 💚
😬 Through a series of questions, Yann shared his perspectives on topics ranging from the values a designer should nurture in an increasingly complex environment, the importance of well-being as a long-term, scalable economic strategy, and WY-TO’s most important pivot yet – an employee-owned research and design studio.
📢 Part 1 of 3 spotlights his take on being a designer of future-ready cities.
Thank You, kienviet.net , for the opportunity to share what we advocate for at WY-TO with your readers!

🌟 For our rejuvenation project of communal areas for an ageing residential estate, we examined how underutilised spaces and transitional zones can become nodes to nurture a greater sense of belonging 🤗
Currently in the construction phase, a (not-so) typical weekly site visit by Jamie, our Senior Designer, involves working closely with our contractors to address challenges and mitigate them with technical yet bespoke solutions, on-site 📐
Our design update treats every enhancement as an opportunity to extend comfort for the end-users. From optimising natural light in common corridors to creating more conducive shared areas for informal gatherings, we work together collectively with the craftsmen to increase qualitative aspects. Thereby transforming an individual's day-to-day interaction into a collective’s lived experience. A life-centric approach 💚
💯 Excited for what’s to come as we progress closer to the completion date. Stay tuned!

✨Flesh and Bones: The Art of Anatomy is now open to the public at ArtScience Museum
Happy to have once again partnered with Pico Singapore for this exhibition that celebrates the shared language between art and science. Originating from the Getty Foundation Research Institute, LA, the journey is approached from a cross-cultural perspective. Western anatomical artworks and medical archives are exhibited alongside Eastern influences, such as TCM charts and apparatuses, in showcasing the two belief systems.
In respecting the depth of scientific content, we introduced an overall sequence with moments of pause, awe, respect and contemplation while perusing and discovering more than 160 artefacts and artworks – consisting of life-size anatomical illustrations, medical journals, books, historical records, and other contemporary artworks from around the world, including Southeast Asian names.
Rhythms between elements unfurl meditative qualities, inviting contemplation that echoes the keen, ongoing pursuit of a subject that has been a source of curiosity since the 16th century.
Furthermore, echoing the natural symmetry of human anatomy, we focused on spatial balance within spaces along the visitor experience 💯 Doing so contributed to the order and structure of the well-balanced composition of the nine galleries. Following a similar framework, the neat proportions established by our team led the design of showcases and plinths. Visitors thus could move effortlessly, guided by carefully calibrated spatial cues.
🎉 Congratulations to our clients, once again!

The craft before the craft.
A tremendous amount of energy has been put into designing and reconfiguring the technical systems, supporting our Merdeka Textile Museum exhibition project. In ensuring each space aligns with the experiential vision and international standards, our team of experts worked seamlessly to choreograph every detail, including technical elements, pipes, trunking, cables and everything that the eyes cannot see 👁️
❤️ The joint effort will ultimately be finished with materials, but it is with the collective dedication of designers, consultants, contractors, workers and clients that the grand spatial configurations will be worthy of the textile museum status. It will certainly be a visitor journey to remember, with the collection taking centre stage in telling their narratives.

Last week, we wrapped up our trip to with two events.
Starting first in Sharjah, a guest studio review for Year 5 Students of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), College of Architecture, Art and Design, and in Dubai, Portfolio Day 2026 for the Architecture students of American University in Dubai (AUD).
Thank You, Prof. George Katodrytis, for inviting us to be part of your AUS studio’s review. Your students showcased wonderful creativity in interpreting “Playtime: Architecture as Game”. We really loved how the students demonstrated their creative design thinking process. From their physical models to digital modelling. Very refined, well put together and clearly documented in exploring themes of Domesticity, Gardens, and Ecologies. Definitely ambitious and well thought-out 💯
Thank You, Lisa Teo, for including us in AUD’s Portfolio Day 2026, alongside other esteemed industry professionals from Perkins Eastman , DLR Group , Studio Bikin Architects, and more. We are certainly glad to be part of such supportive platforms that allow students to understand the importance of curating their work and using the right tools to visually communicate their set of expertise 👏
🙌 A wonderful way to conclude our time abroad. Now, we are back in Singapore and ready to (continue) to hit the ground running.
