Dear parents,

We are aware of the many reports that were circulated lately about the security lapses while using Zoom. I understand the concerns that parents are having, as a parent with school going children using Zoom, I am too.
Frankly, we do not know, when those lapses occurred, were the passwords enabled, or even how each participant was invited into the meeting, via facebook, email etc..... I believe these are pertinent points to consider before we jump to the conclusion that Zoom is not safe. I am sure that many of you can agree with me that Zoom is a wonderful app which is so easy to navigate even for very young children.
We are currently exploring other apps to hold these meetings but not much has been written about their backend encryptions to allay our concerns either about security.
While we search for a more secured solution, we will continue to use Zoom for the lessons.
However, let me assure you that we have been very careful with our backend security settings right from the start.
We have been using the paid hosting instead of the free app.
We ensured that every meeting has a password and the latest enhancement is to verify each participant before they are allowed to join the meeting even if they have the password.
We thank you for your support thus far and do continue to trust us, that we are taking your child’s well-being very seriously.
We will continue to keep you updated on the situation.
