The first is always the most memorable.

When I just started out tutoring students,
I focused on 1-to-1.

I felt that's the best way to
cater to individual students' needs.
But as the enquiries kept coming in,
I found myself spending too much time
commuting on the road
And I can't help more students
Than I'd like to.

Then we came across this classroom
At Bukit Timah Shopping Centre.
It wasn't on our radar initially.
I was hoping to find one
Nearer to the heartlands.
But the size was just nice
For a cosy group class.
It was within our budget also.

So we took the leap of faith,
And rented it.
This classroom,
Was often filled with laughter,
As we joked and discussed
About anything under the Sun.
Using Chinese.
Students can learn together,
In a safe and fun environment.

There were tears, too.
When students felt like giving up,
And all they needed,
Was an encouragement,
And a teacher who believed in them.
And they soared.

Now, as we streamline our business,
It's time to say goodbye,
To this place where it all started.
It's a bittersweet moment,
To pass this to another group of
Educators who cherish every child.

But as we focus on growing,
And helping more students,
It's good to know,
That this place where it all began,
will continue to bless
The many students to come.

PSLE Result Release Day is always a bittersweet moment for me.

On one hand, I rejoice with parents who were pleasantly surprised with their child's performance. But on the other hand, my heart is heavy when parents told me doing well in Chinese alone is not enough to get into the Secondary School of their choice.

In an ideal world, as long as we worked hard, we will get what we want. But in a real world, there will always be many factors at play: the child's mental state, how tricky the questions are, how many students are fighting to get into the same secondary school, etc.

At the end of the day, our children might not get what they WANT. But I believe what they NEED are their parents holding them and saying, it's ok. Daddy and mummy are with you. We will face the future together ❤️

No matter the results, they don't define you. Your life is unique, your gifts are special, and as long as you are willing to work hard, the road ahead will always be an extraordinary adventure 💪🏻

Celebrate every success, take stock, and continue the fight 💪🏻

花甲辉煌，国富民强！
Blessed National Day, Singapore!

In Chinese culture, there are 12 Zodiac animals, and every 12 years is a cycle. If you complete 5 cycles (60 years), we call it 花甲之年. It is an significant milestone as that is also a complete cycle of the 干支纪年 (a 60-year cyclical calendar used since ancient China).

As Singapore celebrates its milestone 60th birthday, we are thankful for all our forefathers and leaders for their sacrifices and contribution. At Molaoshi Chinese Learning Centre , we work tirelessly to train our students in bilingualism, and seek to bridge the English-speaking and Chinese-speaking worlds. We are definitely a work-in-progress, so thank you parents and students for trusting us and working with us! 💪🏻

We will continue to seek the peace and prosperity of this nation by helping our students be rooted in 🇸🇬 culture, and opening their eyes to see the exciting 🌎 we live in!
