‘Leaders are not born. They are made.’ 💪

On 21 May 2026, Yuying Secondary School’s Prefectorial Board inaugurated the incoming student leaders at the Student Leaders’ Investiture 2026, while extending their appreciation for the outgoing leaders. In the presence of the student community, they bravely pledged to uphold the responsibilities and duties entrusted to them.

Our leaders pledged to exercise altruism, give their best in their work, and uphold Yuying’s reputation. Through this, we hope to see the next generation of student leaders bring the school to greater heights.

While the journey ahead may be daunting, may our Eagles always remember the shoulders of the giants they stand on. They have the support of our school leaders, teachers, and the school community. Here’s to our Eagles, soaring far and high 🦅✨!

Yuying Secondary School Honours Day Celebration 2026 ✨

What an unforgettable day of pride, passion, and performance at Yuying Secondary School! 🎉

Our Honours Day Celebration brought together students, staff, and families in a vibrant showcase of achievement and school spirit. We celebrated the dedication and hard work of our award recipients as they stepped forward to receive well-deserved accolades 🏆—a powerful reminder of what perseverance and excellence can achieve.

The celebration was elevated by captivating performances from our talented students, including the soulful melodies of the Guzheng Ensemble, the graceful artistry of our Malay Dance troupe, and the dynamic energy of the 24 Season Drums 🥁✨—each performance reflecting the rich cultural vibrancy and holistic development nurtured at Yuying.

We were also deeply inspired by heartfelt speeches from our Principal, our Guest of Honour, and our valedictorian, who reminded us all of the importance of growth, gratitude, and striving for excellence in every endeavour.

At Yuying, we believe in more than academic success—we believe in nurturing confident, well-rounded individuals ready to take on the world.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making this celebration so meaningful. Together, we continue to build a school where every child is known, supported, and empowered to shine. 🌟

Earth Week was a wonderful reminder for all Yuying Eagles to appreciate and cherish Mother Earth while deepening their understanding of sustainability. 🌍💚

This year’s Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” inspired students to take action and reflect on how they can make a difference. Pupils enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including immersive eco‑workshops and interactive games booths.

During the assembly period, students were also treated to an informative and lively talk by Biogirl MJ, who kept the audience thoroughly entertained with her engaging sharing and fun quizzes. Her passion for the environment sparked curiosity and inspired our Eagles to think about how small everyday actions can create a big impact.

Excitement filled the air as students enthusiastically participated, striving to collect EPL points for their classes. It was truly an exhilarating and meaningful event for our Eagles!

Enterprise Week returns this year with more experiential learning across Singapore!

Our Secondary 1 Eagles embarked on a Humanities Integrated Learning Journey in the Sungei Api Api area to discover the rich historical and geographical heritage of the area. They also had hands-on experience through the Code for Fun programme to create microcomputers.

Our Secondary 2 Eagles embarked on an exciting journey of discovery, uncovering Math and Science in action amid the dazzling sights of Jewel Changi Airport. They got up close with vibrant koi at a local farm, and delved into Singapore’s rich heritage at the National Museum of Singapore. They enhanced their digital and AI-related skills through the AI for Fun programme, and made a meaningful impact with the elderly through our Applied Learning for Life Programme.

Our Secondary 4 and 5 Eagles embarked on an enriching journey through Singapore’s vibrant Civic District, deepening their appreciation for culture and heritage as they explored iconic spaces such as the National Gallery Singapore and the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall. They learnt to process their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills through an Art Therapy Workshop.

They also gained valuable exposure to future pathways on Careers Day which included talks by speakers from a cross section of industries in Singapore and visited Nanyang Polytechnic to discover the latest courses on offer there. To prepare for life beyond school, they honed essential employability skills through programmes such as the Personal Effectiveness Workshop, as well as Interview and Personal Statement Writing Skills sessions.

We at Yuying believe in an all-rounded education which exposes our students to our multi-layered society beyond the classroom, and equipping them with confidence and readiness for their next chapter in life.

🏕️ YYSS Sec 3 OBS Experience

At Yuying Secondary School , the Sec 3 journey reaches an exciting milestone with the Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) experience — a transformative outdoor adventure that goes far beyond the classroom.

Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s natural landscapes, students take part in activities such as kayaking, hiking and camping. These experiences are not just about adventure — they are carefully designed challenges that push students out of their comfort zones, encouraging them to discover their strengths, overcome fears and build resilience.

Just as importantly, the OBS journey includes meaningful reflection. Students pause to think about their experiences, recognise their personal growth and understand how they can contribute positively to their community.

The Sec 3 OBS experience is more than a camp. The programme strongly reflects YYSS’s mission and vision of nurturing confident, adaptable and enterprising learners. It is a defining chapter in the students’ YYSS journey where students return not only with unforgettable memories, but also as stronger, more self-aware individuals ready to embrace future challenges.

🏕️ YYSS Sec 1 Camp Experience

Our Secondary 1 students have yet unlocked another milestone!

Held over 3 nights at the Singapore Discovery Centre, the camp provided students with a dynamic mix of activities designed to challenge, engage and inspire. From high and low element courses to rafting and problem-solving challenges, students stepped out of their comfort zones and discovered the importance of teamwork, resilience and perseverance.

Beyond the physical challenges, students also bonded through shared experiences such as dance practices and even pizza-making sessions — creating moments of joy, laughter and connection. These activities allowed them to build trust, strengthen friendships and develop a strong sense of belonging within the Yuying family.

The Sec 1 Camp reflects YYSS’s commitment to nurturing confident, adaptable and collaborative learners. Students return not only with unforgettable memories, but also with new friendships and a stronger foundation as they embark on their Yuying journey together.

🌙 Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! ✨

As the month of Ramadan comes to a beautiful close, we send our warmest wishes to all our Muslim students, staff, and their families celebrating this joyous occasion.

Today is a day of reflection, gratitude, and—most importantly—strengthening the bonds that make our school community so special. Whether you’re visiting relatives, enjoying some delicious rendang and ketupat, or simply soaking in the festive atmosphere, we hope your day is filled with peace, laughter, and light. 💚

In the spirit of the season, we also embrace the beautiful tradition of Maaf Zahir dan Batin—seeking forgiveness and starting anew with a kind heart.

‘All the world’s a stage’ – one where our Yuying Eagles bring their performances to life. 🎭

Yuying students were treated to a myriad of performances featuring the Guzheng Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Chinese Dance and Concert Band. The air buzzed with beloved tunes such as ‘Butter’ by BTS, 大鱼 by Zhou Shen and ‘Touch’ by Katseye. 🎶💃✨

Moreover, the audience were dazzled by our very own Mr Kwok, who delivered a rendition of 海阔天空 (Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies)!

Fun fact: our Concert Band 🥁🎷🎼 took centre stage at the 2024 National Day Parade. Their performance invigorated audiences at the Padang and at home, and remains a lasting memory for all participants involved! 🤩

The Performing Arts CCA showcase reminds us of the power of creativity and the Yuying spirit. Thank you to all performers and supporters for making this event unforgettable. Until the next curtain call…💫🎟️

Led by Jaryl Chow (4A), Yuying Sepaktakraw Captain, our Sports CCA athletes stood tall and united during the Oath-Taking, pledging integrity, fair play, and sportsmanship as they prepare to represent our school with pride.

Additionally, the inspiration continued with National Paralympian Xavier Lim Jie Rui, whose powerful story of resilience and determination reminded us what it means to compete with courage and heart.

Wishing all our athletes the very best — compete fearlessly, stay united, and make us proud! 🏅✨
