On 4 April, English By Jen had the privilege of hosting a PSLE workshop organised by The Straits Times. The Straits Times

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such an engaged and thoughtful group of students.

In this session, we covered important PSLE English components such as grammar, vocabulary cloze, and synthesis and transformation, all through the lens of the viral “Punch the Monkey” story. Students also took part in a presentation segment, where they shared their views on zoos, animal welfare, and whether animals thrive more in captivity or in the wild. It was a meaningful way to sharpen both oral communication and critical thinking skills.

It was such a joy teaching these students and seeing how eager they were to learn, participate, and speak up.

Thank you again to The Straits Times for having us. We would love to be part of more events like this in the future.
