Primary School in Tampines, Singapore. The two schools merged in 1975 and was renamed 'Yook Min Primary School'.

Yumin Primary School has her roots in two Chinese village schools, 'Yook Kiau' and 'Ping Min', in the old Tampines area from 1940 to 1974. It was relocated to the present site in 1985 and renamed Yumin Primary School'. In 2003, the school was upgraded under PRIME programme. Currently the school has an enrolment of 974 pupils of different ethnic groups. The school offers Chinese and Malay languages as mother tongue languages for pupils.

Our Yumin Champions celebrated Children's Day through meaningful community service! They participated in a "Walk for Health" initiative with South East CDC and FairPrice Foundation, raising funds through their steps. Our students also created heartfelt bookmarks for Metta School children. Proving that even the smallest hands can make the biggest difference!

Our P1 Little Champs sparkled at the Festival of the Arts! Through our integrated Speech and Drama Programme, they delivered captivating performances from Choral Reading to song-and-dance. With seamless collaboration between Music, Art & PE departments and strong parental support, it was an unforgettable celebration of talent!

Yumin Primary School celebrated Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, on 21st October 2025 with the theme "Vibrant Colours of Deepavali," embracing multiculturalism through performances by students from diverse backgrounds accompanied by energetic Indian music. The celebration featured eco-friendly recess activities such as the 5G Deepavali Network (Going Green Gathers Great Greetings) and DeeGital Deepavali, which combined environmental awareness with festive celebrations. Traditional cultural activities were organised for our Yumin Champions' participation. These activities included kolam and henna designing, as well as agal vilakku making, and helped promote understanding and appreciation of Indian culture and the significance of the festival.

Our P4 Budding Champs had a memorable Museum-Based Learning Experience at the National Gallery on 23 September, exploring how local artworks tell Singapore's history through the integration of Art and Social Studies. The students enjoyed docent-led trails featuring iconic portraits, sculptures and landscape paintings by local artists.

Our Primary 4 Yumin Champions visited the Kreta Ayer Heritage Gallery for National Education. Through this learning journey, students gained an understanding of the Chinese community's contributions to Singapore's cultural heritage. This meaningful learning experience indeed has deepened their appreciation for Singapore's multicultural history, sparked their curiosity to learn more about Singapore's history, and instilled pride amongst our young learners.

Our Lower Primary Sports Day was a joyful celebration of our Yumin Champions' learning, showcasing teamwork and community spirit as they demonstrated their PE skills through relay races, obstacle courses, and carnival-style games. The event rekindled house spirit and brought families together, with students strengthening their coordination, balance, teamwork, and resilience while building bonds. Congratulations to Green House, the Champion House for 2025!

The Primary 2 Echoes of Expression event showcased our P2 students' diverse skills and talents through AEP@Yumin, which comprises Drama, Music and Dance. Through this programme our young performers demonstrated confidence as they presented their speaking, singing, dancing and presentation skills before an audience of proud parents.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all Primary 2 English language teachers and Parent Support Group members whose dedicated support made this a meaningful experience.
