The guardianship of the silat art of Macan Pasrah was entrusted to Sidon Bin Kasan after the passing of his foster father, Kyai Raden Haji Mohd Nor, who had taken him as a son when his biological father returned to the motherland of Java. Living a life shaped by discipline and service, Master Sidon became the sole inheritor to the Art, guarding it faithfully and employing it only in times of necessity, such as during the communist insurgency in Malaysia (1948–1960).

His valor was recognized by the government of his era with a grant of land at Ayer Hitam, Batu Pahat, Johore. There, while sustaining himself as a farmer, he began teaching the Art to several young villagers.

A man of few words, Master Sidon spoke with a heavy Sundanese accent. His piercing gaze seemed to reach into the soul, while his movements carried the form of a tiger and the speed of a phantom, leaving lasting impressions on all who witnessed them.

The Art of Macan Pasrah is a union of 12 West Javan Silat styles, completed in the 1920s. Its founder, Kyai Raden Haji Mohd Nor, selected only what was essential, shaped by his lived combat experiences and spiritual revelations. From this distillation emerged a martial system with its own philosophy, principles, and exclusivity.

At its core stands the 12th art, a tiger-style lineage tracing back to Prabu Siliwangi, King of Sunda Pajajaran, embodying the spirit and essence of the entire system.

A tiger remains true to itself– whether at hunt, at rest, or at play. In the same spirit, our coaches strive to “oil” their joints, tending to their craft even in light-hearted, gentle sparring.

We believe that continuous practice not only sustains our own growth but also brings lasting benefit to our students.

Coach Hazim rocking with his training kits! A prominent sight that demonstrates how Silat embraces modern methods without losing its spirit. By incorporating training aids the likes of Boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA, we affirm that Silat is not bound by time but capable of adapting to every era.

One of our missions is to ensure that traditional Silat remains relevant, adaptable, and effective— evolving gracefully while preserving its essence.

Our Wakil Guru is always unorthodox in approach, one of this is seen through the courage to remain within the circle of practice. He joins the coaches in training— sweating, striving, and refining himself shoulder to shoulder with them. He often recognises the coaches for their strengths and openly admits his own weaknesses, seeking their help to deepen his practice and gain more time on the path.

In doing so, he reveals both strength and vulnerability without ego.

By training alongside the coaches, he demostrates that leadership is not separation, but unity. His presence affirms that the Art is a living path, sustained by humility and brotherhood. The path of our Masters.

When coaches choose to upskill, they aren’t just learning, they’re weaving new threads into the fabric of our club’s legacy.

They remind us that tradition is alive, it breathes, evolves, and shines brighter when nurtured through camaraderie.

For them and the rest of our coaches, growth is not only personal– it’s communal. Their journey prove that giving back can be as simple and as profound as daring to try something new.

Every Tiger begins as a Cub; wide-eyed, eager, and full of spirit. Their first steps on this path are more than training, they are the start of a journey toward discipline, courage, and unity.

One day, these Cubs will roar with the strength of Tigers, carrying forward the tradition with pride.

More than martial arts, Macan Pasrah is a way of life, guiding practitioners toward balance, discipline, and the middle way in their pursuits.
