Happy Pride Month from The Walk on the Wild Side podcast family🌈

Please continue to show your love and support for the LGBTQ+ community! We should always celebrate and accept people for being their beautiful self, within the veterinary field and in our daily lives. No one deserves to feel like they are less for being different than the “norm” and no one’s rights or opportunities should be comprised just by being a part of the LGBTQ+ community.

For those of you in the LGBTQ+ community, we love you and are always here for you! For those of you who are an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, we love you and thank you!

Much love❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Host,
Kyle Kansman, DVM, CertAqV

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
To get into the spooky spirit, we wanted to share a fact about the one and only Vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus)!

Yep you guessed it folks, the vampire bat does indeed feed on blood, but instead of the haunting image of Dracula sucking blood, the vampire bat actually makes a small cut on the host’s skin and laps up the flowing blood with their tongue without even hurting the blood donor! The vampire bat prevents the blood of the host from clotting using an potent anticoagulant (anti-clotting substance) called “draculin”!

Hope you all have a spooktacular and fangtastic Halloween!
