Spreading kindness, one interaction at a time ❀️

As part of our involvement in Kindness Month, our Game Changers and String Ensemble CCA members participated in a community outreach at Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange in partnership with SBS Transit.

Through meaningful conversations, music and simple acts of kindness, our students experienced how small gestures can make a positive difference in building a more inclusive and caring community. Our Game Changers also engaged members of the public and invited them to pen heartfelt messages that promote kindness while commuting.

Proud of our students for bringing smiles to members of the public and living out this year’s Game Changers theme β€” Inclusive Hearts, Caring Community.

Xishan’s Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) champion kindness and inclusion in school through the Buddy Bench β€” a student-led initiative planned entirely by our PSLs and carried out during recess!

❀️🌈 Our P6 PSLs engaged students in an interactive game using scenario-based cards. Participants identified whether the actions described were those of an upstander or a bystander by tossing a beanbag into the corresponding box, helping them better understand how they can support others in everyday situations.
βœοΈπŸ’ Our P4 PSLs encouraged students to reflect on and pen down moments when they had been upstanders. These cards were then displayed to celebrate acts of kindness and inspire others to do the same. Through these reflections, students recognised how small acts of kindness, empathy, and inclusion can make a positive difference to their peers.

Next term, our P5 PSLs will step up to lead their sessions. We look forward to seeing what they have in store!

We are proud of our PSLs for taking ownership, leading by example, and helping to build a caring and inclusive school community. πŸ‘πŸŒŸπŸ«

Mid-Year School Holidays Advisory
As our students begin their well-deserved mid-year school holidays, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe, responsible and vigilant while enjoying their break.
During our Week 10 morning assembly, students were reminded to:
β€’ Stay away from crime, including shoplifting, theft and high-rise littering.
β€’ Be aware of your surroundings and practise stranger danger.
β€’ Have the courage to say "No" to negative peer pressure and bullying.
β€’ Beware of scams and do not share personal information with strangers online or offline.
β€’ Seek help from a trusted adult, parent, teacher or caregiver whenever needed.
We encourage all students to make wise choices, look out for one another, and stay safe during the holidays. Wishing everyone a meaningful, enjoyable and safe school break!

Our P5 students spent an unforgettable 3D2N at the P5 Outdoor Adventure Learning Camp, building teamwork, courage and resilience through team bonding activities, high elements, a campfire, and a mass dance to end the night. Beyond the fun and excitement, may our students continue to step out of their comfort zones with confidence, overcome challenges with resilience, and show care for others in their everyday lives.

🌱✨ Celebrating a Meaningful Milestone in Our P3 LLP-IPW Journey! ✨🌱

On 22 May 2026, our Primary 3 students proudly showcased their learning at the P3 LLP-IPW Gallery Walk, marking an important milestone in their interdisciplinary project work journey.

Throughout the programme, students explored pressing environmental issues affecting our world today and applied the Design Thinking process to brainstorm meaningful and creative solutions. Working collaboratively in teams, they designed and created animal sculptures using recyclable materials and crafted e-posters using Canva to advocate for environmental awareness and action.

During the Gallery Walk, students confidently shared their ideas and creations with their peers, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and a growing sense of environmental responsibility. We were truly impressed by their enthusiasm, thoughtful ideas, and the joy they experienced through hands-on learning and teamwork.

This meaningful learning experience would not have been possible without the dedication, guidance, and support of our teachers, who journeyed alongside the students every step of the way. Thank you to all teachers and students for making the Gallery Walk such a memorable and enriching experience! πŸ’šβ™»οΈ

Leadership is not just about leading others β€” it is about serving with integrity, courage, and heart.

During our Prefect Rally 2026, our student leaders stepped forward to share their voices, values, and visions for the school community. Through creativity, confidence, and teamwork, each candidate demonstrated what it means to be an iCARE leader β€” showing empathy, building connections, advocating for others, and leading as positive role models.

Students across all levels also played a meaningful role in the rally. While Primary 3 to Primary 6 students exercised their voice by voting for their choice of Head Prefect, our younger students reflected on the values and actions of being good role models.

More than a platform for voting, the rally was a meaningful opportunity for students to grow in leadership, confidence, and character while inspiring one another along the way.

🌿 Our Green Day in the Community

In support of Go Green SG, student representatives from the Environment Club took the lead in advocating for a greener, more sustainable Singapore through two meaningful initiatives at Our Green Day in the Community event held on Saturday, 16 May 2026!

πŸ₯¬ Xishan's Giving Garden: Grow and Give
Our students planted and harvested vegetables using grow towers, sharing their planting journey and reflections on the importance of food security in Singapore. A reminder that every seed we sow counts!

♻️ Fun with Upcycling: From Trash to Treasure
From showcasing their CCA experience of conducting an upcycling workshop for preschoolers at PCF Sparkletots to inviting members of the public to create their very own self-watering planters β€” our students showed that one person's trash is truly another's treasure!

Beyond the showcase, it was wonderful to see our Xishanites step up with confidence, engage with members of the public, and connect with peers from other schools. These are our environmental stewards in action β€” using their voices to inspire others to live more sustainably, shaping tomorrow today. πŸ’š

Together as a school and community, we take meaningful steps towards Singapore's green goals. Let's keep going! 🌱
