Celebrating the People Who Make Hillgrove Shine

Staff Appreciation Day 2026 brought the Hillgrove community together for a Disney-themed celebration of the teachers and non-teaching staff whose dedication keeps our school learning, growing and caring together.

The celebration opened with words from Principal Mrs Helen Tan-Lee, followed by the GEMS Awards, which recognised staff who had gone above and beyond through their dedication and hard work. Hillgrovians then filled the hall with music and energy through performances by Choir, the student band and Modern Dance. Disney-themed games added plenty of laughter as teachers teamed up with students to test their knowledge of songs, movies and trivia.

The celebration extended beyond students and staff, with members of the Parent Support Group contributing not only lanyards but also a special video and dance performance. As a gesture of gratitude, staff received personalised Hillgrove mugs made by our very own Hillgrovians.

Student Councillors concluded the programme with a singalong featuring students and staff before ending with a video expressing students’ appreciation for the people who support them each day.

More than a day of performances and fun, Staff Appreciation Day reminded us that a caring school community is built by many hands.

Whether teaching in the classroom or supporting the school in countless other ways, every member of staff plays a part in helping Hillgrovians learn, care and make a difference.

From page to stage, imagination came alive at the school’s first ever Literary Runway on the 21st of April! In commemoration of World Book Day, Hillgrovian students transformed into their beloved book characters, strutting down the hall with creativity, confidence, and a touch of magic. 🪄✨Each outfit told a story, reminding us how powerful books can be in shaping who we are. 📚⭐️

Hillgrove’s 25th Anniversary Homecoming filled the new Indoor Sports Hall with laughter and joy. Batches of students and staff reunited, reminiscing over old school magazines, enjoying carnival stalls, and touring familiar halls. Everyone left with a limited edition 25th Anniversary bear — a keepsake from one unforgettable reunion.

25th Annual Speech Day - Reflect, Celebrate, Aspire!

This year, we mark a proud milestone of our school - our 25th Anniversary.

For a quarter of a century, the school has nurtured reflective learners, adaptive thinkers and caring change-makers. We sharpened curious minds, developed kind hearts, and built resilient spirits. We celebrate our students' achievements, our teachers' dedication, and our parents' and partners' unwavering support.

From humble beginnings to distinctive achievements, our journey as a school reflects courage, collaboration, and a commitment to lifelong learning. This year, we launched our very own Makerspace to provide teachers and students the space for continual innovation and invention.
