That’s My King by Cece Winans. When I heard this song one year ago, I knew I wanted the Christmas Choir to end their set list with this declaration about Jesus. But this time is a bit different, I had to sing it 😅

The truth is, being a choir conductor and vocal coach for 25 years, i never really had to be put into the spotlight to perform in front of a public. It is true I excel in helping artists and singers in their crafts, but when i had no choice but to take this song that i chose for the Christmas Choir, i panic haha…coaching myself to sing and leading the praise song effectively compared to coaching someone to sing is TOTALLY a different ball game. I was constantly criticising myself to the point it was crippling. A reset had to be done (not the technique but the mind) They say singing starts from the mind and it is true! After doing it for a month singing live in front of a public audience, the nerves calmed, the mind cleared, I forgave myself when a note strayed off and the heart just went along what felt right. Super thankful to the New Creation Worship Choir for being such an awesome team to serve and work with.

We’ll be back every Sunday on 7th, 14th and 21st December at 10.30am and 1.30pm — come soak in the festive atmosphere and enjoy a heartwarming time of carolling with us.

Throwback to annual event DYAC: iridescence on 11 October. Highlight (5) all items! What I appreciate most was the process toward the performance. Was not an easy journey but I am so grateful to create the musical magic with my fellow coaches and , the exco, alumni members and cycle group members! Nothing can come together if not for the unity we have. New season ahead let’s go!
