Our students have returned from an enriching learning journey in Brunei, bringing home meaningful memories, new friendships and fresh perspectives.
Throughout the programme, students explored Brunei’s rich culture, traditions and learning landscapes — from visits to Teng Yun Temple, the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and the Wasan Paddy Plantation, to engaging with local students, communities and institutions.
On their final day, students experienced the unique heritage of Kampong Ayer, the “Venice of the East”, where they observed traditional stilt houses, sampled local delicacies, and gained deeper insights into Brunei’s way of life. At Barramundi Group, students also learnt about sustainable aquaculture practices and how technology and innovation are shaping the future of fish farming.
The journey challenged students to grow in resilience and teamwork — whether through the hike up Mt Patoi, cultural exchanges, or authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Above all, it was heartening to witness our students step beyond familiar environments, embrace new perspectives, and deepen their understanding of the people and communities around them.
We are proud of how positively our students represented HIHS throughout the journey. Welcome home, Brunei team! 💛
