✨ A wonderful start to the first day at in Gothenburg!

It was truly energizing to reconnect with so many old friends and to meet new colleagues from across the globe. The venue is buzzing with activity, and Gothenburg itself is such a beautiful and welcoming city.

I had the pleasure of catching up with friends from Vietnam’s Van Lang University, reconnecting with colleagues from Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and of course, visiting our great neighbors at the Malaysia Pavilion.

It’s been a busy and inspiring first day - filled with conversations that remind me why global engagement and collaboration are at the heart of what we do at AppliedHE.

One of the most exciting and well-received moments at AppliedHE Xchange: UNS @ Bali 2025 was the signing of 21 MOUs between universities and institutions from across the globe. These agreements, signed between Universitas Universitas Sebelas Maret and partner institutions, symbolize collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to advancing higher education.

Who Signed? From Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and South Africa, institutions came together to forge partnerships that will drive academic exchange, research collaborations, student mobility, and industry engagement.

But Signing an MOU is Just the Beginning! MOUs should not be trophies that sit on shelves gathering dust! A signed document is only as powerful as the actions that follow. These partnerships must be activated—not left to collect dust.
