Hi there!
I am Mr Zhang, a NUS Accountancy graduate (Honours Distinction) and an alumnus of River Valley High School. I have been actively giving tuition throughout my undergraduate years and have found joy in helping students achieve the grades that they desire. I teach Physics/Chemistry & Maths but i am currently only focusing on opening up group slots for Physics & Chemistry. Personally, Physics was my favourite subject back in school as it was a subject that i could actually observe real world applications and understanding the concepts really gave me a sense of satisfaction. As a tutor, apart from helping students achieve good grades, I also hope to cultivate an appreciaton of the sciences and make physics & chemistry a subject that students look forward to studying.
My lessons are tailored to give you a complete understanding of the concepts, I will focus on building conceptual proficiency through emphasing on concepts. Subsequently, we will build exam proficiency through practising exam type questions, past year papers and ten years series. I will also revisit old concepts periodically to reinforce what was learnt in the past and to form new connections.
Value proposition:
I am a friendly & approachable tutor that is willing to go the extra mile for my students. To me, making sure that students learn well is of utmost priority to me hence I am more than happy to take questions after class hours or extend lessons to answer student queries. Pedagogy:
Many students have feedbacked to me that they find physics & chemistry challenging and their grades have dropped after crossing from lower sec to upper sec. That is understandable, the concepts you learn in upper secondary sciences are deeper and physics & chemistry aren't subjects you can do well in with an incomplete understanding. My lessons are tailored to give you a complete understanding of the concepts, I will focus on building conceptual proficiency through emphasing on concepts.
