In learning about their body, children learnt about their 5 senses.
Last week, the K1’s learnt about their sense of sight.
Children learned what the term "sight" meant and they shared how their sight enables them to see and do things.
But what about people who cannot see? How do they “see” and read or write?
They learnt about Louis Braille and how his revolutionary “Braille” method allows people without sight to read.
Children then learnt how to create words using Braille.
Making the works of Louis Braille was so much fun! He may not be able to see, but he sure shed some light into the lives of others who are not able to by coming up with "Braille" (a less complex method to decode and read for the blind).
Today, the children also made braille with some styrofoam balls with the first letter of their names. Can you read them? 💭🤔

The first week of school can be daunting for the children as they enter a new environment with unfamiliar faces, hence making them feel jittery.
To start the school year fun, Nursery 2 kids made jitter juice to chase their jitters away! 🥤

Kids love pegs, they are bright, colourful and attract the interest of children. 👧🏻👦🏼
Pegs are perfect for play ideas, activities and crafts! They are great for building strength of fine motor muscle and coordination. They also encourage the pinching action between the thumb and finger which helps in the development of good finger grip.
Here is one activity that the pre-nursery class did to hone their fine motor skills through a fun pe***ng activity through hanging their little clothes on the clothes line!

For children, making friends is a vital part of growing up and an essential part of their social and emotional development. Attributes such as social competence, altruism, self-esteem, and self-confidence have all been found to be positively correlated to having friends.
It is beneficial for children to manage and build their own relationships, even though as parents and carers we may want to take responsibility or interfere. But there are ways we can help our children navigate friendships, become more confident and help to build and develop their social skills.
Here are some of the benefits:
1. Help your child to develop positive social skills from an early age.
2. Demonstrate to your child how friendships work.
3. Help your child find other children with similar interests.
4. For older children who may be feeling shy or anxious offer them some icebreakers to start conversations.
5. Help them to find new areas of interest.
