Our Staff Appreciation High Tea was a wonderful opportunity for all Team Meridian staff from our primary school and MOE Kindergarten as well as our School Advisory Committee Chairman and members to come together to relax and enjoy an afternoon of good food and fellowship. It was heartwarming to see colleagues connecting, sharing laughter and creating happy memories. 🤩

Heartfelt appreciation goes to Team Meridian for Seeing, Steering and Shaping Each Meridian to realise their Meridian Promise each day! 🥰

A big thank you, too, to everyone who helped make the celebration a meaningful and memorable one! 🥳

We celebrated Teachers’ Day on Thursday, 3 September! It's a special time for our school community to come together and show our appreciation for our teachers and staff. We had meaningful classroom activities facilitated by our Student Councillors and Peer Support Leaders, and joyful moments followed by an exciting concert!

We would like to honour our teachers and staff for their dedication, care and commitment in making a difference every day. The concert was very meaningful and well-received. We hope the teachers had a blast watching all the performance!

Last Saturday, our students proudly represented Meridian Primary School at Sayembara Bahasa Melayu, a competition for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students from schools in the Pasir Ris area.

The competition aims to nurture students’ interest and love for the Malay Language while providing them with opportunities to strengthen their oracy skills and confidence in using the language. It also gives students a platform to showcase their creativity and talent through acting and character portrayal inspired by Malay folktales.

Our students embraced the experience with enthusiasm and confidence, putting in their best effort as they represented the school. There were a few nervous smiles before going on stage, but once they began bringing the Malay folktales to life, it was wonderful to see their confidence and excitement shine through. We are proud of their courage, commitment, and willingness to challenge themselves beyond the classroom. ✨

May this be one of many beautiful memories that nurtures their love for the Malay language, inspiring them to cherish it, use it with confidence, and carry it proudly with them as they grow. ❤️

Discovering Interests, Growing Leaders! 🌟👏

Over three exciting PAL lessons, our Primary 2 students had the opportunity to explore the wide range of CCAs at Meridian! 🎉
From sports and performing arts to clubs and uniformed groups, our students experienced first-hand what each CCA has to offer. The CCA Fair was also a meaningful platform for our CCA Leaders to step up, interact with their Primary 2 juniors and proudly promote their respective CCAs. 📣
Through these interactions, our leaders developed their confidence and leadership skills while inspiring their younger peers to discover their interests and talents. 🌱💡

From Mealworm to Beetle 🪱🪲

What better way to learn about animal life cycles than to watch one unfold right before our eyes? 🔍✨

Our P3 students became little scientists as they cared for and observed mealworms through their different life stages. From larvae hiding in oats to pupae transforming into beetles, every change sparked excitement, curiosity and plenty of questions!

The best moment? Seeing their mealworms finally emerge as beetles! 🪲

Through this hands-on experience, our young learners discovered the wonder of life cycles while learning to observe, appreciate and care for living things. 💚

Lead with Action, Serve with Heart ❤️

In delivering her inaugural speech, our 25th Head Student Councillor, Maya Alesya, embodied the spirit of a Meridian Leader—one who leads with confidence, courage and commitment.

Last week, the Meridian family came together to witness the Investiture Ceremony of our 25th batch of Student Councillors.
Our newly appointed student leaders proudly pledged to uphold the Student Council's motto, "Lead by Action, Serve with Heart."

As they begin this leadership journey, may they lead with humility, serve with dedication, and inspire others through the actions as they uphold our school motto: "To Learn, To Love and To Lead”. ⭐

Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore! 🇸🇬

This National Day, we celebrated not just Singapore’s 61st birthday, but also the 60th anniversary of our National Pledge (Pledge 60) — a reminder of the values and commitment that unite us as one people.

The day began with a heartfelt reflection by one of our teachers, Ms Debbie Lim, on her experience reciting the Pledge for the first time as a primary school student, sharing with us how these words inspired her and generations after.

From our National Day Observance Ceremony to rousing performances by our Show Choir and Teachers’ Band, the celebrations brought together our primary school students and MK children in pride, joy and song.

As we embrace this year’s theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, may we continue to live out the Pledge through our actions and strive to build a brighter future together.
