Before there were teachers, classrooms or examinations, there was you. ๐Ÿ’œ

A parent is a childโ€™s first teacher.

You taught them their first words. You held their hands through their first steps. You showed them how to try again after falling and reminded them that being brave does not mean never feeling afraid.

Now, as your children prepare for PSLE, you are teaching them something even greater:

That their worth is not measured by a score.
That effort matters.
That courage grows when someone believes in them.

To every PSLE student watching this: listen closely to these voices.

These are the people who have known you the longest, loved you the deepest and believed in you from the very beginning. They are not asking you to be perfect. They simply want you to trust yourself and give your best.

When the paper is placed before you, breathe. Read carefully. Think calmly. Take it one question at a time.

Whatever the results may be, you will always be more than your marks and you have already given your parents many reasons to be proud.

Their hands guided your first steps.
Their voices will carry you through these final ones.

Two more weeks. You are ready. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

โ€œWhy does my child still get the same question wrong when they have done it before?โ€

This is a frustration many PSLE parents understand.

But repeated mistakes do not always mean that a child is careless, lazy or not practising enough.

Sometimes, the answer was corrected, but the misunderstanding was never corrected.

Your child may remember the right answer without understanding:

๐Ÿ”Ž Where their thinking went wrong
๐Ÿงฉ Which concept is still weak
โœ๏ธ How to apply the skill to a different question
๐ŸŽฏ How to repeat the correct process independently

That is why simply giving another stack of worksheets may not solve the problem.

At Edtivate, we analyse recurring errors, bridge the learning gaps and guide students to apply the corrected method again until it becomes a repeatable success.

Because doing it again is not the same as learning it better.

The September holidays are an important opportunity to address stubborn mistakes before they appear again in the PSLE examination.

Can your child still perform when the paper is timed, the questions feel unfamiliar and exam nerves begin to rise?

The September holidays are the final meaningful window to find out.

Edtivate Learningโ€™s PSLE Intensive Revision Camp is a five-day programme designed to help P6 students identify remaining gaps, sharpen their exam techniques and build the stamina needed for the actual papers.

PSLE INTENSIVE REVISION CAMP
FINISH STRONG

7 to 11 September 2026
10am to 6pm

Lunch and refreshments included.

Each subject receives its own dedicated day:

๐Ÿ“ Monday โ€ข Mathematics
๐Ÿ“– Tuesday โ€ข English
๐Ÿ”ฌ Wednesday โ€ข Science
๐Ÿ€„ Thursday โ€ข Chinese
๐Ÿ“ Friday โ€ข Full Mock and personalised gap review

Every morning begins with a skills anchor that students apply throughout the day. They will work through targeted weak concepts, timed Paper 1 practice, Paper 2 deep dives and exam-condition sections.

At the end of each day, students complete a reflection and parents receive an update on their childโ€™s progress.

We are also bringing in expert wellness instructors and a physiotherapist to help students manage the physical effects of exam stress.

Because exam readiness is also physical and emotional, students will experience:

๐Ÿง˜ Yoga warm-ups with expert wellness instructors
๐ŸŒฟ Physiotherapist-led stretch demonstrations
๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Guided breathing and relaxation exercises

Our experts demonstrate. Students follow independently.

This will be an intensive week. Students may feel tired, but it is better to build their stamina and learn how to reset now than during the actual PSLE.

Target gaps. Train under pressure. Reset with purpose.

Limited places are available.

You know what keeps a tutor awake at night?
For me, it's often ideas.

I'm Teacher May.

That particular night, I was scrolling and came across a post about a 2.5 hour workshop on building your own app with AI. The host's very first workshop. It lined up so exactly with what I had been thinking about that I half-wondered if my phone had been listening. ๐Ÿ˜‚

A DM and a QR code was all it took to sign up. But before the session I did my homework, jotted notes on the backbones of what i wanted to build and I rushed over after my last class.

I got to work almost immediately in the session. 2.5 hours later, I walked out with an almost ready tool. One of the few workshops I've been to that truly delivered what it promised.

What surprised me most was what came after.
Rejuvenation.
The hunger to keep going,
never mind the long hours, nor the tokens. haha

The same feeling I had 25 years ago, going from home to home, one student at a time, wondering what more I could do to help them learn deeper.

That tool became ELLA Coach. A free writing and speaking companion for students, built with a simple belief.

Any student can learn, given the space, the time, and a tool that meets them where they are.

I first coined the name ELLA years ago, during covid, when I took a break from my last edtech role and taught online to pick up new skills. It stands for Edtivate Learning Language Access. Back then it was just a name. Today, ELLA is a coach. ๐Ÿ’•

What a journey.

CNA Money Mind featured the story this week. The heart of it: an ordinary person building something for the children in front of her. The YouTube segment is out now: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/watch/money-mind-2026/built-less-6328146

Thank you , Betsy Tan and Dopamine Communications for the beautiful storytelling, and every parent, teacher, and student who has tried the app and shared what worked.

To the shy, quiet, clueless, curious students who want to write and speak better. This one is for you. โค๏ธ

If your child is preparing for exams, give ellacoach.app a go. It's free.

AI is cutting the cost of building productivity tools โ€“ so could vibe coding change how we work?

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š A MESSAGE FROM THE HEART ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ

Calling all PSLE parents! Record a short 30โ€“60 second video to encourage your child as they prepare for their upcoming PSLE.

Not sure what to say? You could:

โœจ Share what makes you proud
โœจ Offer a few encouraging words
โœจ End with: โ€œYouโ€™ve got this!โ€

Your message will be included in a special reel created for all our PSLE students. Every participating parent will also receive a token of appreciation.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Film vertically in a quiet, well-lit spot
๐Ÿ“… Submit by: 31 August 2026
๐Ÿ’ฌ WhatsApp your video to: 8233 2866

Letโ€™s come together and give our children the encouragement they need! ๐Ÿ’œ

Something a little surreal is happening this month. ๐Ÿฅน

Teacher May will be on CNA MoneyMind this Wednesday, 19 August, 9pm, talking about an app she built without a programming or coding background.

If you'd told her a year ago that she would be coding anything, she would laugh. As a teacher, the tools have always been whiteboards, worksheets, and a very loud voice.

But these three students keep showing up..

One who knows every answer in her head, but freezes the moment the oral examiner looks at her.

One who thinks in English and Chinese at the same time and somehow can't find the words in either.

One who just needs more turns. More time to try. More chances to get it wrong before getting it right. Things a classroom, no matter how good the teacher, can't always give.

Teachers can't be in every child's home at 9pm when they finally felt brave enough to try again.

So Teacher May built something that could.

ELLA Coach is a bilingual AI coach for oral and composition exams. English and Chinese. Patient. Available whenever your child is ready. No stage fright. No judgement. Just practice, as much as they need.

I'll share the full story on CNA this Wednesday. I hope you'll tune in. And if you know a child who could use a gentle coach at 9pm on a school night, send them here: www.ellacoach.app ๐ŸŒฑ
