All smiles now as the children holds up their artwork. We have started our very own art program namely Art Fun in preschools and judging from the smiles on the children's faces, you could tell that they are indeed happy with their priceless artwork. It was indeed a fun and enjoyable art time for the kids and teachers too :)

We had a fun time organising a special event for children aged 2 to 12 years old at a local church in May. Needless to say, the children had a wonderful time dancing, learning, playing and moving to music :) The older children learnt some skills too and enjoyed the balloon sculpturing class. For more information on what we do, please see Annerichment Fun website!

Wow, time flies and it's the weekend again and soon it will be back to school again for your kids on Monday. Hope your children are learning well and do you ever wonder what is your child's learning style?
There is no one size fits all when it comes to the way we learn. All of us have different learning styles; the way different individuals learn might even be apparent as early as in their preschool years!
The following is the basic 3 types of learning styles:-
Visual: children who learn best through their sense of sight are known as visual learners. They tend to process information best through pictures and images. Materials such as mind maps and labelled pictures will make a lot of sense to help them to learn.
Auditory: children who are auditory learners process and remember information best through their sense of hearing. This means they prefer to learn by speaking and listening. They have strong verbal ability, listen to information effectively, notice sounds that others may not notice, and engage in conversations readily.
Kinaesthetic: kinaesthetic learners process information best through physical movement. They prefer to make sense of things by touching them or moving things around.
So, which category does your child belongs to? Want to find out more, stay tune.....and also check out My Music Time program from Annerichment Fun which focuses on the development of multiple intelligences and learning styles.

Can we make our young kids smarter?
Knowing how much the brain absorbs and how quickly our little ones advance intellectually, it’s natural for most parents to wonder if intelligence is an issue of genetics, or if more can be done to advance a child’s mental capabilities. Much has been written on the whole ‘nature vs nurture’ debate but it’s commonly agreed that there are ways to facilitate intellectual stimulation.
Many parents may send their young ones for enrichment classes but it’s equally essential to focus on proper nutrition, as this is vital for brain development.
Healthy foods containing omega 3, cod liver oil, and high amounts of iron are encouraged, examples being fish such as salmon and tuna or fruits like avocado.

Have yet another fulfilling time with my ‘kids’ doing creative movements together; it’s wonderful being able to impact them with positive learning through play, fun and music. Physical movements like these also help to build the children’s gross and locomotor skills :) more to come.........

Ways to Encourage Good Habits in Children
Parents can help their children develop healthy habits early in life. This will bring lifelong benefits. As a parent, you can encourage your children to learn good habits that may include good social skills, good manners and also help them evaluate some of their food choices and physical activity habits. It takes time to acquire a habit, so parents need to be patient with their children.
Here are some tips and guidelines to get you started.
Be a Role Model:
One of the best ways to develop good habits for children is by setting a good example yourselves.
Good Manners:
It’s never too early to start finding good habits for children. Encourage your child to use phrases like Thank you, You’re Welcome and Excuse Me.
Physical Activities/Movements: (for more fun with music and movement, check out annerichment.webs.com)
Physical activity is more than just organized activities. It can include everyday activities like walking the dog, playing tag, and even household chores like sweeping Staying physically active as a child will eventually become a part of them as they grow older.
Encourage Family Bonding:
Family time is extremely important for a growing child.
Set Strong Ground Rules:
As a parent, it is extremely important for you to set down rules for your children. Now is the time to make a routine and time table. Set out fixed hours for playtime, homework and screen time.
Encourage A Healthy Diet:
Encourage your child to make healthy food choices. Your child will adopt good habits if they start early.
Reward Your Child:
It is a great idea to reward your children for their good behavior. Make the rewards intangible – a hug, a word of appreciation, etc.
You can reward your children with good experiences too.
Stay Involved:
No matter how busy you may be in your day to day work and chores, you must make it a point to be involved in your child’s life.
Family Dinners:
Family dinners are an excellent way to inculcate the habit of healthy eating in your children.
Encourage Reading Books: (check out my music time on annerichment.webs.com)
Reading out stories to your child from a book makes a significant difference. Good literature has an effective way of inspiring children to behave in a correct manner, to follow a code of discipline, and to maintain a positive outlook in life.
Be Realistic With Your Expectations:
Encourage children to learn from their mistakes. Setting realistic goals and limits are key to adopting any new behavior.
