Following teams as they navigate unfamiliar terrains. Capturing the quiet moments, the laughter, the challenges, and the stori...

Black and white felt right for this recce.
Without the distractions of colour, what remains are the raw unfiltered moments. These images strip the journey down to its essentials. Just the team, the terrain, and the process of building something meaningful from the unknown.

Behind every step of this recce was the team from Explora Thailand, whose knowledge runs deeper than any map.
They did more than guide us. They shaped every decision with instinct, experience, and a deep understanding of the terrain. From navigating untouched trails to ensuring safety in unpredictable conditions, they gave us the confidence to push further.
Through them, we did not just explore the landscape, we learned how to read it, respect it, and design programmes grounded in real conditions.
This expedition is not built alone. It is forged through partnership, trust, and true ground mastery.

What does it take to design a two week Overseas Experiential Leadership expedition from the ground up?
Our latest recce in Kanchanaburi pushed us through untamed mountain trails, into a 70 metre cave abseil, and deep into the challenge of building a programme that connects trekking, kayaking, climbing, and more into one powerful leadership journey.
This is where ideas meet reality, and where every decision shapes the experience to come.

Designing the Ultimate Leadership Journey — Explora
There is a certain kind of energy that only exists at the beginning of something untested. No fixed routes, no guarantees, just a map filled with possibilities and a mandate to build something bold. Our recent recce trip to Kanchanaburi, Thailand, was exactly that. Tasked with designing a new Over

Our clients never stop pushing us. New mountains. New abseiling sites. New ways to lead through adventure.
It’s what keeps the Explora team designing, scouting, and reaching higher. Because great leadership starts where the map ends.
Ready for the next challenge?
Let’s build it together.

Leadership Beyond the Uniform — Explora
I did not join Explora because I was looking for something new. I joined because I was looking for something true. After twenty years with the Singapore Civil Defence Force SCDF, stepping away was not an easy decision. SCDF shaped my discipline, my values, and my understanding of service. It taught

No wastage, just flavour.
Out in the field, we don’t see “leftovers,” we see potential. With a little culinary creativity, leftover bread becomes decadent French toast (thanks to that hidden stash of cinnamon and vanilla). Regular sugar? A quick blitz in the grinder with a pinch of cornflour gives us homemade icing sugar. And those last few apples? A silky, spiced apple sauce to bring it all together.
Minimal resources. Maximum taste. That’s the goal.

Adventure isn’t always bright and saturated. Sometimes, the real story lives in the shadows.
Using dark photography techniques in adventure shoots allows us to shape mood, depth, and emotion.
By underexposing intentionally, controlling light sources, and embracing contrast, we highlight grit, texture, and raw expression — whether it’s abseiling on a granite face into darkness or trekkers framed against blooming flowers at dawn.
Shadows create tension. Silhouettes build mystery. Selective lighting directs focus.
In the wild, we don’t just chase light — we sculpt it.
