A lot of parents tell us that.

They say it worries them because if they don’t know,

They can’t help.

And it hurts. Because “why doesn’t my child trust me enough to tell me what’s on their mind?”

This parent came in with the exact same problem.

She finds her child getting less and less communicative.

Sometimes, when her child does communicate,

It doesn’t come out in words.

It comes out in tears, fits of anger, or slammed doors.

Dear world,

I have a confession.

I don’t know how it started, or when it started,

But I have been hesitant to get started.

I don’t think I’m lazy. I think I’m just scared.

Scared that I won’t do it right.

Scared that I will fail.

Scared that I won’t be the best at it, so why even try?

So… I just tell myself…

I’ll do it tomorrow when I have a better idea

I’ll give myself until tomorrow to think about it so I can get a better idea

Or.. I’m not in the BEST mood today, so I’ll do it tomorrow.

So after a series of tomorrows…

Seems like tomorrow never comes.

And I’m still right where I started.

Zero movement, and I wasted time.

And the funny thing is..

Every time tomorrow comes, I wish I started yesterday.

It might not be perfect, but at least it would be done.

At least I would end up somewhere.

I realised many people are like me.

We let our fear of…

Not being good enough

Not being the best

Not doing it right

Stop us from moving forward.

So I set my mind on just starting, and just doing.

It doesn’t matter if it’s imperfect, or not the best, or whatever,

You will get better.

But you need to start today.

Else you’ll always be in the very same spot.

Our parents are kinda cheeky as well 😆

Gone from asking her girls to please speak up..

To going to asking them to please stop talking.. 🤣

We are glad that there’s more communication between parent and child!

We laughed when we saw this review, it means that we have achieved what we have set up to do.

Our first weekend in 2022’s shaping up to look pretty good!

It’s been a really hard 2021, we aren’t going to lie. We moved over to Toa Payoh, and it has really been a ride ever since.
